Tara'LE ®Syste®)Y TETRA CANOPY INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS PLEASE READ AND FOLLOW ALL SAFETY WARNINGS AND CAUTION STATEMENTS © Determining Materials Needed Step 1: Determine the amount of Tetra'' Canopy Housing (GECPL) needed by measuring the structure or referencing the architectural drawing /layout. Ensure that you have the appropriate Tetra" Canopy materials. Refer to the Tetra'' Canopy Data & Components Sheet for the most recent list of SKU's. For custom layouts, send the data to: tetradrawings @gelcore.com. Component usage will vary on a case -by -case basis. Step 2: Divide the length calculated or measured in Step 1 by 8 ft. (2.44 m) to determine the total number of Canopy Housing pieces needed. For example: The footage needed is 28 ft. Divide 28 ft. by the length of the standard 8 ft. Canopy Housing piece (28/8 = 3.5 Canopy Housings needed). Round this up to 4 pieces for ordering. Step 3: The number of Lens Connectors (GECPLC) and End Caps (GECPLEC) should be one less than the number of Canopy Housings ordered. Step 4: The number of Cam Locks should be 4 times the number of Canopy Housings ordered. Add 5% to 10% to the total material to cover estimating margin of error. Any color LED of the Tetra'': CL, XL, or Power White systems can be used within the Canopy Housing. . 6180 Halle Drive • Valley View, Ohio 44125 -4635 P:216.606.6612 • F:216.606.6556 • W:www.gelcore.com • E:tetra @gelcore.com Products © Attaching the Canopy System Figure Step 1: Determine the mounting location on the building or cove by checking the building elevation drawing for proper location. Leave a 1/2 inch (1.27 cm) gap between for thermal expansion and contraction (Figure 5). The Canopy Housing can be mounted in any orientation but the recommended Lens opening orientation is downward to easily relieve any condensation. If the Housing is mounted other than horizontal, then a screw needs to be drilled through Figure 5 the base between two LED's to the wall to keep the sections from slipping down. © Inserting Tetra"' LED Strip • Step 1: To snap /push the Tetra'' LED Strip into the Canopy Housing, push each module into the track at the bottom of the Canopy Housing. The Tetra'' Figure 6 Power White will push in but will not snap like the Tetra'' XL and CL Strips. Make sure the wire side is pushed in first when snapping the LED's into r the Canopy Housing base (Figure 6). -• }} • t 4 @A Q Tr#T4' During installation temperatures below 20 °F (- 6.7 °C), the supply wire may harden making splice connections difficult. A heat gun may be used to temporarily warm the wire. U Attaching the Supply Wire Figure 7 Option 1: Find the approximate center of each Tetra' LED Strip. Move off center to the nearest gap between two Canopy Housings. Measure 4 inches to either side of the gap and drill a 1/2 inch (1.27 cm) hole through the base of the Canopy Housing. Be sure to remove any debris from the Canopy Housing (Figure 7). Run the Supply Wire through the 1/2 inch (1.27 cm) hole and attach Figure8 -- it to the Tetra' LED Strip using a GECLSC2 Splice Connector. Make the splice connection in the gap between the two Housings (Figure 8). Continue this process for all LED strip electrical connections. Use an RN adhesive sealant to seal the supply wire hole from water ingress. Figure 9 Option 2: Drill the hole anywhere along the length and cut a notch 4 inches 1 (10.16 cm) to either side. Attach splice as shown (Figure 9). © Attaching the End Caps and Lens Connectors Figures Step 1: Align the tongue of the End Cap with the base of the Canopy Housing and press fit into place (Figure 10). 7 Step 2: Snap the Lens Connector over any adjoining Canopy Housing sections, ensuring the Connector is seated against both bottom sections of Figure 11 Canopy Housing. Verify both tabs of the Lens Connector are wrapped fully around the Canopy Housing base (Figure 11). l 6 Power Supply Connections Refer to the applicable Power Supply Installation Instructions, depending on type of Tetra'' LED System selected. These can be found at www.GELcore.com. Follow all local, State or Federal codes when attaching the AC line and the low voltage wiring. Each Power Supply should be mounted in an enclosure if mounting outdoor. Each enclosure should have a shutoff switch and conform to all applicable NEC codes All supply wire should be the same length for every section on the building II Installation Do's & Don'ts Action Do Don't Installing the Tetra • Provide a minimum of 0.5" (13mm) clearance • Mount to the sides of the Power Supply on all sides. channel letter.
