The slab edge perimeter insulation is R -15, installed from top of slab downward. 2. All exterior windows and sliding glass doors shall be vinyl frame, double -pane glass, low -e glazing and with NFRC tested U- factors of 0.40 or less (Class 40). 3. The door into the Maintenance Room shall be an insulated metal, thermal -break door. 4. Exterior walls shall be insulated to R -21. The following building envelope measures for this project do not comply with Prescriptive Compliance Path 1 requirements of the 1996 edition of the Oregon Structural Specialty Code as specified on blueprints: Six store -front exterior doors, in exterior walls. We have performed thermal performance calculations to demonstrate how these doors with insulated glass can comply with code. 73 Unit Motel, King City Oregon ' The following building envelope measures for this project exceed Prescriptive Compliance Path 1 requirements of the 1996 edition of the Oregon Structural Specialty Code as specified on blueprints: Roof trusses are oversized and accommodate full depth of ceiling insulation to outside of exterior wall. Enclosed are thermal performance calculations to demonstrate how improved ceiling insulation will "trade -off" reduced performance of metal insulated store -front type doors. The U- factor from the Oregon Non - Residential Energy Code Compliance Manual was used for the 1/2" insulated, full lite, store front type, metal doors. The following building envelope measures are not included on the blueprints: 1. Penetrations in exterior envelope shall be sealed, and windows and doors shall be caulked, gasketed or weatherstripped. 2. Insulation for exterior walls shall have a one -perm vapor retarder installed on the warm side (in winter). 3. Any recessed lighting fixtures installed within exterior ceiling insulation shall be Type IC rated. We have attached a summary sheet of Energy Requirements that should be included in Blueprints. Mechanical and Lighting Code Compliance Forms were not completed for this project. We can do this for you at a later time if you request this service. Lig 16105 SW Pacific Highway King City, OR 97224 RE: Continental Breakfast Bar • 16105 SW Pacific Highway • King City, OR 97224 • • Dear W. Lig: The Washington County Department of Health and Human Services has obtained the plans for the proposed Continental Breakfast Bar to be located at 16105 SW Pacific Highway in King City, Oregon. It is our understanding that community water and community sewer will be utilized at this structure.. The following is understood to be planned with necessary changes and conditions for approval noted: (1) The plans show a Hobert Low temperature dishwasher. Machine or water line mounted thermometers must be provided to indicate water temperatures of the wash and rinse cycles. These thermometers must be accurate to ±3°F. The dishwasher must be capable of reaching • proper wash and rinse temperatures. Because chemical sanitizers are used, they must meet the requirements of 21 CFR and be dispensed in proper concentration. An accurate test kit is required to test sanitizer concentration of the final rinse. • (2) The plans do not identify a utility /mop sink. It might be #8 in the laundry room, but please clarify this. The rules require at Ieast one utility sink or curbed cleaning facility with a floor drain be located in the building. It must be utilized for the cleaning of mops or similar wet floor cleaning tools and for the 'disposal of mop water or similar liquid waste. The use of utensil washing or equipment washing sinks or food preparation sinks for this purpose is prohibited. (3) A handsink must be designated in each of the food or drink preparation and food or drink dispensing areas. Handsinks are shown in the kitchen area by the dishwasher. Department of Health & Human Services 155 N That Avenue. MS 5. Hillsboro. OR 97124 -3072 WIC Nut4INe % Phut: MOM sha nccc ' JAN- 04 -'99 MON 06:52 ID: FAX NO: #031 P03 • Page 2 (4) All handwashing sinks including the restroom handsinks must be equipped with dispensed soap and dispensed sanitary towels or approved hand drying devices. Common (cloth) towels cannot be used to dry hands. If disposable towels are used, easily cleanable waste receptacles must be conveniently located near the handwashing facilities. The handwashing sinks must be equipped with hot and cold tempered water. If self - closing, slow - closing, or metered faucets will be used, they must be designed to provide a flow of water for at least 15 seconds without • the need to reactivate the faucet. • (5) The plans show an employee restroom with a toilet and a handwashing sink. (6) The restroom(s) must meet all the requirements as described in the 1987 Oregon Food Sanitation Rules for design, construction and operation. Be aware that restroom doors must self- close and that there must be at least one covered waste receptacle in the women's restroom. (7) The ice machine and any other piece of equipment utilized to hold food or ice in that is equipped with a drain must waste indirectly. Where air gaps are required, the distance between the bottom of the waste pipe and the top of the floor sink or drain must be at least one inch or two waste pipe diameters, whichever is greater. (8) Any refrigeration unit which does not come equipped with an evaporator pan for its liquid wastes must have its liquid wastes drain indirectly to a floor drain or floor sink. (9) Floor sinks and floor drains must be located so they are accessible for cleaning and maintenance.
