The plan review was performed under the State of Oregon Structural Specialty Code (OSSC)
1998 edition. The submitted plans are approved subject to the following.
• Footings shall be inspected by City of Tigard Building Inspector prior to the
placement of any concrete.
Special Inspection: Special inspection is required for Structural Welding at the Base
Plates. The special inspection agency of record shall furnish inspection reports to the
Engineer of Record, GRC Engineering, Inc. the General Contractor, Cascade Sign &
Neon, and the City of Tigard, Building Division, attention Hap Watkins. All discrepancies
shall be brought to the immediate attention of the general contractor for correction. The
special inspector shall submit a final signed report stating whether the work requiring special
inspection was, to the best of the inspector's knowledge, in conformance with the approved
plans and specifications and the applicable workmanship provisions of the code. 1701.3
OSSC
Approved Plans: 1 set of approved plans, bearing the City of Tigard approval stamp, shall
be maintained on the jobsite. The plans shall be available to the Building Division inspectors
throughout all phases of construction. 106.4.2 OSSC
When submitting revised drawings or additional information, please attach a copy of the
enclosed City of Tigard, Letter of Transmittal. The letter of transmittal assists the City of
Tigard in tracking and processing the documents.

SUBJECT: ConocoPhillips 76
Per your request, the following is a description of a project that may require some building
investigation for ConocoPhillips 76, located at 12825 SW Pacific Hwy.
Permit technician, Cheryl Caines, reported the following:
1. 8/27/04: Applicant applied for (3) sign permits and (1) electrical permit for all (3) signs.
Sign permits SGN2004 -00215 and SGN2004 -00216 for canopy signs were created, however the
third sign permit for free - standing sign was not created as current planning required plan
revisions because the sign exceeded allowable square foot area. The electrical permit was not
created at this time. Planning staff held the check written for all (4) permits in their file and did
not deposit it in the cash drawer.
2. 11/1/04: Applicant applied for building permit BUP2004 -00521 to remove existing free-
standing sign and replace with smaller free - standing sign. Plans were approved by building staff
and permit was issued on 12/23/04. No inspections have occurred as of this date.
3. 3/23/05: Sign permit SGN2005 -00072 for free - standing sign and electrical permit
ELC2005 -00175 were created so that the check could be deposited into all (4) permits. The sign
permit was voided by planning staff as revisions were never received or approved and Cheryl
said no refund will be processed. The electrical permit is ready to be issued, however the check
was short the state surcharge.
4. 3/23/05: Cheryl Caines believes that the free - standing sign has been installed without
inspections and electrical work has been done on all (3) signs prior to permit issuance. The
applicant will need to re -apply for the free - standing sign permit. The electrical permit
application will remain in the "ready" file at the permit counter. .
5. 3/28/05: Revised plans received/approved and permit reinstated and issued for free-
standing sign permit SGN2005- 00072.
6. 3/29/05: Remaining electrical permit fees paid, permit issued and mailed to applicant.
