PORTLAND, OREGON 97219 (603) 245.6640 Jim Funk October 3, 1996 Plans Examiner City of Tigard 13125 S.W. Hall Blvd. Tigard, Oregon 97223 RE: St. Anthony's School Site, Site plan review PC# 7 -114c SIT# 96 - 0044 • Per our telephone conversation and your fax dated September 23, 1996, I am hereby confirming changes to our application to comply with the code issues we discussed. Specifically: The route from the access aisle of the new accessible parking stall shall be separated from the vehicular way in accordance with OSSC Section 1103 -2.3.2 or the location modified to permit immediate, adjacent access from the access aisle to the walkway connected to our new construction. As we discussed, I expect we will choose to relocate the parking stall and access aisle location to the adjacent walkway. The ramp landing (also known as the portable building entry deck) shall be modified to provide no less than a 42 inch path around the doors when either door is in any (open) position. We will provide a 7'-0" wide deck to accommodate the 36" doors and 42" path. A separate permit application for the fire alarms shall be provided by the respective sub- contractor. I will advise the Contractor that 3 sets of plans with cut sheets of components and specifications are required with this application. I hope these modifications meet with your approval, allowing the site permit to be issued. I've attached a copy of your fax for your review. Please call me if any questions remain (699 - 4522 wk.). Thank -you for your assistance. Sincerely Yours, pe. These comments are accompanied by a revised site plan. M N A i essibility p The landing at the base of the new ramp shall have a dimension in the direction of r mp run of not less than 6 feet. Doors in any position shall not reduce the minimum dimension of the landing to 0 ess than 42 ". The landing at the top is wide enough to provide required clearances. (Note: the entire deck surface is not a landing, but more like a corridor.) Strctural A note has been added indicating that all structural beams, joists, decking and ., umns exposed to weather shall be pressure treated. The perimeter skirting and underfloor access shall be detailed by the building u , plier. e Underfloor ventilation shall be detailed by the building supplier. V . Visual and audible alarms shall be provided as required by Sec. 1109.14. ite Work I've noted that the roof storm drainage shall be connected to an approved storm drainage system. 4 -r ;CJ The drawings attached a re on 24 "X36" paper; significantly larger and more f r T readable than the 1 i "X17" drawings you apparently received. I hope these meet . with your requirements. r- ,: r 1 c / Due to the proximity of the proposed building in relation to streets, and also I (./ considering the minimal excavation required, and also considering that the site is relatively flat, I do not believe erosion control measures are needed for this project. .- Silt fences and hay bales would have no impact on restricting soils movement as none is anticipated. Accessibility r This project will be fully handicap accessible. Other buildings on the site are not involved in the construction although they have been designed or modified previously to more fully accommodate the code. A. There are no barriers proposed or existing that connect this project to tfr(••J public ways and public transportation. 2. We have indicated a new accessible parking space on the revised plan. It is located on the shortest practical accessible route to the building entry. . The slope of the aisle, parking stall and route do not exceed 2% C. The larger plan should show in a more detailed way, the parking plan. 3. There are several accessible routes throughout the site connecting to public transportation and public streets and sidewalks. A. No ramps are required. Required accessible walks comply with all provisions of 1103.2.4. Please call me if you have further questions; work 699 -4522, home 245 -6540. Sincerely Yours, C`p.
