The plan review was performed under the State of Oregon Mechanical Specialty Code
(OMSC) 2002 edition; and the Tualatin Valley Fire & Rescue Ordinance 99 -01 (TVFR99-
01) 1999 edition. The submitted plans are approved subject to the following.
1. The unit is identified as providing 2000 cfrn. Smoke detectors shall be installed in
return air systems with a design capacity greater than 2000 cfrn. Upon activation, the
smoke detector shall shut down the air distribution system. Smoke detectors shall be
connected to a fire alarm system and shall activate an audible and visible alarm at a

2. Each appliance shall be provided with a shutoff valve separate from the appliance.
The shutoff valve shall be located within six feet of the appliance served. Access shall

be provided with a permanent means of access grade or floor leveL 306.5 OMSC
Approved Plans: 1 set of approved plans, bearing the City of Tigard approval stamp, shall
be maintained on the jobsite. The plans shall be available to the Building Division inspectors

Premises Identification: Approved numbers or addresses shall be provided for all new
buildings in such a position as to be plainly visible and legible from the street or road
fronting the property.

enclosed City of Tigard, Letter of Transmittal. The letter of transmittal assists the City of
Tigard in tracking and cessing the documents.

The plan review was performed under the State of Oregon Mechanical Specialty Code
(OMSC) 2002 edition; and the Tualatin Valley Fire & Rescue Ordinance 99 -01 (TVFR99-
01) 1999 edition. The following information is required prior to issuance of a Mechanical
Permit. .
1. Provide structural calculations and a roof framing plan for review to determine the
adequacy of the existing structure to support additional loading imposed by the new
mechanical units.
2. Permanent equipment supported by the structure, 400 lbs and over, shall have their
attachments designed in accordance with formulas in section 1632 of the Oregon
Structural Specialty Code. Provide details for the attachments.
3. Appliances installed on roofs or elevated structures exceeding 16 feet in height shall
be provided with a permanent means of access grade or floor level. 306.5 OMSC
clarify roof height.
When submitting revised drawings or additional information, please attach a copy of the
enclosed City of Tigard, Letter of Transmittal. The letter of transmittal assists the City of
Tigard in tracking and processing the documents.
