Correspondence September 25, 2006 (74414,,,� Salem Fire &Alarm CITY OF TIGARD PO Box 12789 OREGON Salem, OR 97309 RE: ELEVATOR SMOKE DETECTION /FIRE ALARM SYSTEM Building Permit: BUP2006 -00416 Construction Type: III -B Tenant Name: Tigard Triangle, Bldg 4 Occupancy Type: B Address: 11740 SW 68 Parkway Stories: 2 The plan review was performed under the State of Oregon Structural Specialty Code (OSSC), 2004 edition; and the Oregon Fire Code (OFC), 2004 edition. The submitted plans are approved subject to the following. General requirements 1. A key box shall be installed within 20 feet of the main entrance. The bottom of the key box shall be not less than 8 feet nor more than 10 feet above the walking surface unless approved by the Fire Chief. Section 506 OFC 2. Upon completion of the installation, fire detection and alarm systems shall be subject to acceptance tests as contained in the installation standards and as approved by the Building Official. The City of Tigard, Building Inspector shall be notified before any required acceptance testing. It shall be unlawful to occupy any portion of the building until the detection and alarm systems have been tested. Section 901.5 OFC 3. Connections to the light and power service shall be on a dedicated branch circuit. The circuit and connections shall be mechanically protected. The circuit disconnecting means shall have a red marking, shall be accessible only to authorized personnel, and shall be identified as "FIRE ALARM CIRCUIT". Section 4.4.1.4.2.2 NFPA 72. Manual Devices 4. Manual Fire Alarm activation devices shall be mounted a minimum of 42 inches and a maximum of 48 inches measured vertically from the floor to the activating handle or lever of the device. Section 907.4.2 OFC. Approved Plans: 1 set of approved plans, bearing the City of Tigard approval stamp, shall be maintained on the jobsite.
