Lot 6 Hilisbire Crest
Tigard, OR 97223
Dear Monty,
I have reviewed the shear wall located at the back of the closet, next to the stairs at
the main floor of the plan. Calculations indicate that the use of a 36x36 access
through the panel requires a P1 -6 nailing schedule with a PHD -2 at each end of the
panel.
Please note that the original call out was for a P1 -6 panel and PHD -2's, thus it is
acceptable to place an access opening through the shear wall.
Please instruct the contractor to provide solid horizontal blocking, each side, at the
top of the access opening. Use a CS -16 strap continuous over the opening to the
blocking on each side.
If you have any other questions please contact my office anytime.
Sincerely, E ED PROF / .
