ELC2005- 00858, 12297 SW Main St.
This is a complex case and a complex permit to issue but I think it would things,
especially for anyone looking into this in the future, if we were to make a few changes to the
permit and re -issue documents before any inspections are done so that all permanent documents
will show the same and correct primary address and secondary addresses.
Right now:
1. The permit is set up showing 12255 SW Main as the primary address, but that is only one
of seven active addresses shown in Tidemark and it is not the primary or "true" address
per Magic and Tax Records. They use 12297 SW Main.
2. The permit applies to multiple addresses on the one tax lot but does not recite those
addresses, they are only visible if one runs a general permit search for "Main
St: /ELC2005." .
3. One of the addresses the permit appears to apply to is a retired former address, 12295.
I propose: -
1. Set the permit up against the "true" primary address of 12297 instead of 12255.
2. List all seven addresses that the permit pertains to in the job description, e.g., 12255,
12259, 12265, .12271, 12285, 12289, and 12297.
3. Delete reference and connection to #12295, unless there's some reason to keep
referencing a retired address. .

Dear Peggy and Terry:
I don't often get to write letters of applause so it is a refreshing change for me to be able to do
so in this case.
As you know, final inspection approval was awarded on January 30 and 31, 2006 on all of . the
permits involved in the 12297 SW Main St. project: ELC2005 -00858 for the service upgrade
to the building and ELC2005 -00983 through 00989 for compliance repairs in the individual
occupancies, list attached. We now have a single service drop with all meters and main
disconnects at one exterior location: this is now a substantially safer building.
I am happy to declare that the City of Tigard considers that all of the violations and concerns
noted in my letter of April 7, 2005 have been corrected and brought into compliance,
including the "expired without inspection" and "expired without final inspection approval"
issues pertaining to Washington County electrical permits that were issued before Tigard
established its electrical inspection program in 1977. I am copying Washington County Code .
Compliance on this letter to advise them of this and to thank them for their cooperation.
Thank you for your cooperation and close communication with us. We like to operate on the
principle that we're happy to work with folks who work with us, and you certainly have.
Because each of you and the property owner have been fully cooperative and have addressed
all of our issues promptly and effectively we are happy to close this case and assess no
penalties. You have saved the property owner a significant amount in potential penalties
alone and I am confident that Gold Star's staged approach to the repairs was both cost
effective and minimally disruptive to tenant activities.
