General Installation Instructions •
Model F3 dry sprinklers must be installed only in

Note: Installation of the Model F3 Sprinklers in
copper pipe systems is not recommended,
as this may reduce the life expectancy
of the sprinklers.
Model F3 Concealed and Recessed •
Installation Instructions -
• The Model G3 R/C Wrench (Fig. 1) is designed to t
locate on the wrenching pads of the Recessed ■
sprinkler while centering in the cup. A standard W •
drive ratchet may be used to drive this wrench. .
Figures 1 and 2 show sequentially the insertion of the r -
wrench. First, the wrench, with its jaws above the •
sprinkler deflector, is moved laterally until centered
with the cup. Then raise the wrench inside the cup
until its jaws engage the sprinkler's square wrenching
pads (Fig. 3). To remove the wrench, follow this

avoid striking the deflector with the wrench. 9

Pendent and Horizontal sidewall sprinklers.
Maintenance
The Model F3 Dry Sprinklers should be inspected - _ ...r
quarterly and the sprinkler system maintained in {=�-
accordance with NFPA 25. Do not clean sprinklers with 4,_
soap and water, ammonia or any other cleaning fluids. -
Remove dust by using a soft brush or gently vacuuming.`'r -.
Remove any sprinkler which had been painted (other
than factory applied) or damaged in any way. A stock of M.,
spare sprinklers should be maintained to allow quick a.;,�,,,.,� R ;° •
replacement of damaged or operated sprinklers. Prior ,•� •,
to installation, sprinklers should be maintained in the w
original cartons and packaging until used to minimize

PRODUCT CHANGE: The standard stem nut and trunnion on the FireLock Series 705W Butterfly
Valves have changed from Carbon Steel, Nickel Plated to 416 Stainless Steel. This change applies to both
the standard valve and the tapped version (pictured below).
Note: This change includes both the upper stem nut and the lower (trunnion) stem nut.
TIMING: The stem nuts will begin to be changed over in
September 2003 and continue throughout the end of the year.
The sizes will be converted as inventory is depleted. Please
note that customers may experience mixed shipments until the
entire inventory has been converted.
