Subject: City of Tigard Population Projections
Dear Dr. Joki:'
The City of Tigard is projected to remain one of the fastest growing areas of
the State. The following population projections come from the City's Compre-
hensive Plan and are used for our own Financial Plan purposes. These projec-
tions do NOT assume annexations, so you will need to adjust for the Metzger i
(6,500 pop. est. at 1% per year growth through 1990) and Bull Mountain (at i
6,807 in 1980 with 2-3Z 52in h per year) areas. The population projections
do include about 4,700 or the Beaverton School District which you will
need to factor out. Projections for 1991 and beyond are at 3% growth rates
with 32,000 projected around the year 2000 at Plan "Build Out" capacity. In-
cluding Metzger, Bull Mountain and Tigard areas, "Build Out" is projected at
50,000.

Dear Dr. Joki:
This letter is in response to your request for updated population figures as
stated in your letter of September 11. These figures again are based on our
comprehensive plan and projections for the financial plan. The figures do not
include future annexations. The figures do, however, include annexations that
have occurred since the previous figures in the letter of 1987. Since the South
Metzger annexation was in process at the time of the previous projections, I
don't know if the annexed population was included. If they were included,
additions via annexation would be 1543, if not, the number is 2791.

Dear Pat:
r;
Attached is a letter from Bob Jean dated February 2, 1987 that we have used in !
f
numerous predictions. I would very much like an updated letter from the City '
considering population projections using the same format if possible.
Thank you for your help on this matter.
