Notice is hereby given that a special Council meeting, called by the Mayor,
will be held on March 21, 1978, at 7:15 P.M., in Charles F. Tigard Administration
Board Room, 13137 SW Pacific Highway, Tigard, Oregon. The meeting is called
for the purpose of considering ordinances for special levies and tax base election.

This would amount to reductions to balance the budget if the tax base
measure was approved, if the tax base measure is not approved, the Budget
Committee would have to reduce the present budget by S225,000.00 which
would mean reduction of services and termination of additional e^ployees.

(e) ORDINANCE No. 78-18 AN ORDINANCE PROVIDING FOR A SPECIAL CITY ELECTION TO
_ BE HELD IN THE CITY OF TIGARD OREGON, ON MAY 23, 1973,
IN CONNECTION WITH THE GENERAL STATE PRIMARY ELECTION,
FOR THE PURPOSE OF SUBMITTING TO THE LEGAL VOTERS OF
THE CITY OF TIGARD. OREGON, THE QUESTION OF ESTABLISHING
A NEW TAX BASE PURSUANT TO SECTION 11. ARTICLE XI.
CONSTITUTION OF THE STATE OF OREGON AND DECLARING AN
EMERGENCY.
(f) Motion by Councilman Mickelson, seconded by Councilman Cook to adopt
Ordinance No- 78.18 calling for a tax base election for the sum of
$500,000 on May 23, 1978 Primary Election.
Approved by unanimous vote of Council present.
