part of June. There would be sorne period of time to consii-r names of Interested
parties and as some names have already beLwr. s-jtymittadq perhaps the City could work out
the hiring process more quickly.
Mayor Bishop stated he was c3ric,-t=.-A shout tillp and requested Coamittee rezoirmendation

Interviews.
Committee and Council discussed the feasibility of full-time legal staff vs. contract-ual.
Committee recommended Council c-)rsider cort-racting with legal firm.
Committee suggested-Council dezLde wt�at. I),,. wants to pay, specify type of work expected;
consider access and proximity t� city f,-r consultation and confscenaes, and possibility
of two or three year contract.
Council discussed and concer,3-us was t, out full-time In-h-)mst legal counsel.
Council requested Committee to st-!ce,Fr• applicants and U.st in groups fcr recommendation.
Ummittee suggested City obtair, copy of contract supplied by League of Oregon
Cities or Association of Oregon Cour.*iee, as well as request from the League the extent
of City Attorney compensation and duties; whether on retainer fee or partial contract.
