INTERCONNECTION OF THE TRAFFIC CONTROL

PACIFIC;HIGHWAY TO BE FINANCED IN
ACCORDANCE WITH THE "TOPICS" PROGRAM.
(a) City Administrator stated he and City Attorney had
rewrittenparts of the TOPICS:contract and recommended

8. RESOLUTION No. 71-18 RESOLUTION RECOGNIZING MERITCRIOUS SERVICE
OF ERWIN H SCHACHT, JR.
(a) Mayor read resolution and presented Mr. Schacht with a
framed copy.

woman Paisley.

9. RESOLTUION No. 71- _ RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF TIGARD, OREGON AUTHORIZING EXECUTION
OF EASEMENTS TO THE UNIFIED SEWERAGE AGENCY
FOR THE PURPOSE OF CONSTRUCTING AND MAIN-
TAINING AN UNDERGROUND SEWER LINE ON LANDS
OWNWNED BY THE CITY,
(a) City Administrator recommended resolution be continued
to next meeting pending further discussion with U.S.A.
regarding trees in Woodard Park. -
10. MAIN STREET RAILROAD CROSSING AGREEMENTS
(a) City Administrator and City Attorney explained proposed
agreements with Southern Pacific and Oregon Electric
Railroads.
Discussion followed regarding the pros and cons of
predictors at the crossing.
(b) Motion to amend agreements as presented to include the
cost of predictors and cantilevered gates with City
agreeing to pay 50% of cost not to exceed $32,000.00:
Councilman Bergmann, seconded by Councilwoman Paisley. p
Amendment approved by unanimous vote of Council.
(c) Motion to authorize execution of agreements as amended:
Councilman Norton;,seconded by Councilwoman Paisley.

11. AWARD OF CONTRACT FOR WALNUT STREET IMPROVEMENTS
(a) City Administrator reported that only one bid was
received from Al Kalkhcven Construction Company in
the amount of $38,410.00. Engineers estimate was
$35,105.00. "Administrator recommendedaward'of
'contract.
(b) Motion to award contract to Al Kalkhoven: Councilman
Norton, seconded by Councilwoman Paisley.

FOR EXTENSION OF 72ND AVENUE SEWER.

(a) Public Works Director explained proposed project and
indicated preliminary engineering had been accomplished.
(b) Motion acknowledging receipt of petition and authorizing
preparation of preliminary assessment roll and engineering
specs: Councilman Moore, seconded by Councilman Bergmann.
Approved by unanimous vote of Council.
13. APPROVE COOK PARK PERMIT
(a) City Administrator recommended approval of permit
application from N.W.Chapter of Steelheaders for use of
Cook Park subject to clean-up deposit.
(b) Motion to approve recommendation of City Administrator:
Councilman Bergmann, seconded by Councilwoman Paisley.
Approved by unanimous vote of Council.
14. AMENDMENTS TO ZONING ORDINANCE.: Proposed amendments to Sections
260-2 and 280 of the City of Tigard Zoning Ordinance to revise
zoning application fee Fchedule and clarify definition of "kennel

parcel located on the east side of S.W. Pacific Highway across
from S.W. Watkins Avenue.
