Mayor Kyle called the special meet-! ijo to order at 7:45 P.M.
The first business was the opening of the- roofing bids.
Mayor Kyle read the bid from Fred A. Snyc:=r Roofing a.
Sheet Metal corporation: "Reroofing and Re-placing '
Flashings to the back portion (about 1150 scvare fe:=
roof area) of City Hall, Price $420.00,
Councilman. mock: I move that we c_.-:t the Fred A. Snyder
Roofing Bid with the provision that Stevens and Thompson will
inspect and approve the 'installation of the roof, with a
completion -late not to be longer than 30 days after signing
of the contract. Motion, seconded by Counc+lman Woodard;
Upon call For vote the motion was unanimoL. ly approved by
Council', all members being;present
Mayor Kyle,-. We do not have any bids for the City Park Rest
Rooms, Mayor Kyle then, read a-letter from the"Park Committee,
and they have offered to build the Rest Rooms with volunteer
labor,
''ouncilman Woodard- I move that w•e-allow the: Park '--littee
to;proceed, if there are no objections from the Cit :>.-�rney,
-ith construction of the 12est Rooms in the City Park, t._,
ask for volunteer labor for the largest 'amount of the work,
and that this project will be supervised by the City Inspector,
and built according to specified plans. Motion seconded by
Councilman Bergmann. 'Upon call for votethe motion was un-
animously approved by Council, all members being present,
Mayor Kyle then read a letter from Mr. Edward E. Brady,
who warts to run an article;on the City of Tigard, to be
published in Traffic Manager Magaine. There will be a
meeting with this gentleman and the Chamber of Commerce at
the Texas Star Cafe at noon on Wednesday, June,9, 1955,
Mayor Kyle also read a letter from the State of Oregon
Sanitation Authority.
Mayor Kylej We will now have a public hearing in
to a zone change on the corner of Walnut and Grant
mot 6, T.igardville Addition. Applicant is Mrs. Ruth

Councilman Bero_mann: I move that: a draft an Ordinance
A for a zone cl:a from R-5 (Re i:i ,'r_ial) to A-2 (Multiple
Dwelling) for a property on S.W. Walnut and Grant Ave.
Motion seconded by Councilman. Shinn. Upon call for vote

Mayor Kyle: We will now have a public hearing in regard
to a zone change an S.W. Walnut Street, Tax foot 2100, North
Tigardville Addition. Applicants are 'Crane R. Lee And
Ralph'Peters, and requested zone change,is from A- ltiple
Dwelling) to C-2 (General Commercial) . Since there w�_•=
no response the publich'hearing wasthenclosed.
Councilman Klocke I move that we instruct the City Attorney
to draft an Ordinance for a zone change from A�-2 (Multiple
Dwelling).to C-2 (General Commercial) on the property on
S.W. Walnut Street. Motion seconded by Councilman Woodard.
Upon call for vote the motion was unanimously`approved by
Council, all members being present.
Mayor Kyle: We will now have a public hearing in regard'
to a zone change at 14170 S.W. Pacific Highway. Applicant
is R� R. Ripley (Maple Shop) , and requested zone change is
from A-2 (Multiple Dwelling) to C-3 (Retail Commercial) .
Since there was no response the public hearing was then
closed. ,
Councilman Klock: I move that we instruct the City '_.., .-. rsey
to draft an Ordinance for zone 'change, from;A-2 (Multiple
Dwelling) to C-3 (Retail Commercial) on the property (Maple
Shop) at 14170 S.W. ,Pacific Highway. Motion seconded by
p Councilman Woodard. 'Upon callfor vote the motion was un-
animously approved by Council, all members being present. '
Mayor Kyle; I have a copy of the contract for the new highway
and a letter from the State Highway Department. The City s
Council wants an on-ramp and off-ramp at the 72nd overpass,
and they would like to have Mayor Kyle speals "in the City's
behalf at the Public Hearing, Tuesday, June 8, 1965, before
the County Commission regarding,the Tigard Beaverton Inter-
change.

Councilman Bergmann: I move that we allow the Mayor to
speak in the City's behalf at the Public Hearing op. 7°tne 8,
1965, regarding the on-ramp and off-ramp at the 72._
pass. motion seconded by Councilman Shinn. Upon call
vote the motion was unanimously approved by Council, all
members being present.

Fought Steele and H, A. A-.Aderson, -Wr,, represents Gerber
Blades, prognose to build just off kozita and 72nd Avenue,
building to be valued at $575,000,00, and they would like
to annex to the City of,Tigard if the City could provide
sewer service this area, Th.1ii installation,
according to M ?",A3s, City Engineer, would cost the City
E around $70,000,00 or $80,000.00
Mr. bteigs. The District Eng-ir.e.e- s-a*z_s chat this` is the
kind of job that would be eligible for a Federal Grant,
particularly if the Pinebrook Subdivision on #217 Highway
could be connected to this sewer, 1 would suggest that
the City apply for a FederalGrant.
Gerber Blades has run circulation tests in th= =•aa
and they have zero percolation, and this is why the, - _
being held up on their,building permit. it would also Ca-qt
the City about $70.00 a month to operate the two pumping
stations.
Councilman _clock; I move that we make an, offer to these
gentlemen: 1st offer .to` let them pay the entire cost, 2nd
offer to pay $50,000 ($15,000;00 of this total to be'a
Federal Grant, if the Grant is available)y 3rd offer to pay
$100.00 of all connecting fees until the balance is paid
and 4th offer to pay $20,000.00 of City money. Motion
seconded by Councilman Bergmann.` Upon call for vote the
motion was unanimously approved, all members being present.
Mr, Meigs, City Lngineer, and Council discussed pipe size
for the sewer line which will run under the Beaverton-Tigard
Aighway„ Mr. Meigs suggested a 12" pipe, but,on a steeper
slope than was recommended.''
Councilman Woodard: We should answer Western'Surety°s
letter and let them know that the cancellation of Bond No.
201 49 30 for James Willock,, in the amount of x,$1,000.00,
meets with the City's'approval.
Mayor Ryle: If there is no additional business I move that
this meeting be adjourned„
