A RESOLUTION SUPPORTING PERIODIC REVIEW GRANT APPLICATIONS TO PERFORM AN
ECONOMIC OPPORTUNITIES ANALYSIS AND A WE,LLHE-AD PROTE CTTON PLAN
WHEREAS,Tigard City Council Goal 1, Implement the Comprehensive Plan, emphasizes updating City codes
and maps;and
WHEREAS, performing an Economic Opporttu-iities Analysis will help provide die necessary findings to
update the Tigard Zoning Map;and
WHEREAS, developing a Wellhead Protection Plan will help protect the City's investments in its water delivery
system,particularly the Aquifer Storage and Recovery wells;and
WHEREAS, The City of Tigard was notified of the initiation of Periodic Review by the Oregon Land
Conservation and Development Department in May 2008;and
WHE RE AS,Periodic Review is reqaired by state statute to ensure a community's comprehensive plan and land
use codes will provide for the growth management and development needs of die community;and
WHEREAS, The City of Tigard developed a Periodic Review Work Program and the Tigard City Council
approved its submittal on January 27, 2009;and
WHEREAS,The City of Tigard is eligible to apply for state funding in the form of Periodic Review Grants to
perform the Economic Opportunities Analysis and Wellhead Protection Plan;and
WHEREAS, the requested grant amount is $35,000 for the Economic Opportunities Analysis and $30,000 for
the Wellhead Protection Plan.
NOW,THEREFORE,BE IT RESOLVED by the Tigard City Council that:
SECTION 1: The City Council hereby expresses its support for die preparation and submission of Periodic
Review Grant proposals for state funding during die 2009-2011 biennium.
SECTION 2: The City is prepared to provide in-kind contributions in the form of staff time and materials
to aid in completing the Periodic Review Grant products during the 2009-2011 biennium.
