RESOLUTION NO.04--,I-T
A RESOLUTION OF THE TIGARD CITY COUNCIL CONFIRMING THE COMMITMENT OF THE
IMMEDIATE HIRE OF ELEVEN POLICE OFFICERS UPON ANNEXATION OF THE BULL,
MOUNTAIN AREA.
WHEREAS,the City of Tigard has made a commitment to be the provider of urban services for the Bull
Mountain area;and
WHEREAS,the City of Tigard's commitment to provide urban services to the Bull Mountain area has
been formalized in the 1983 Urban Planning Area Agreement and the 1997 Urban Services Area
Agreement;and
WHEREAS,the 2004 Bull Mountain Annexation Plan identifies the need to hire eleven police officers
to provide an appropriate level of police protection to the residents of Bull Mountain upon annexation;
and
WHEREAS,the City of Tigard has placed the Bull Mountain Annexation on the November 2,2004
ballot;and
WHEREAS,if approved,the annexation would be effective July 1,2005.
NOW,THEREFORE,BE IT RESOLVED by the Tigard City Council that:
SECTION 1: If the Bull Mountain Annexation is approved by the voters of Bull Mountain and the
City of Tigard on November 2,2004,the City of Tigard commits to hiring eleven police
officers in January 2005 to ensure they are trained and prepared to provide service to
Tigard by July 1,2005.
SECTION 2: This resolution is effective immediately upon passage.
