RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE SUBMITTAL TO THE OREGON PARKS AND
RECREATION DEPARTMENT OF A LAND AND NATER CONSERVATION R° ATI l i
PROPOSAL TO PARTIALLY FINANCE THE CONSTRUCTION OF A SEGMENT OF THE
TUALATIN RIMERPEDESTRIAN TRAIL
WHEREAS, the Oregon gon Parks and Recreation Department is accepting applications for the Land
and 'mater Conservation Great Program; and
WHEREAS, the City of Tigard desires to participate in this great program as a means of providing
needed park and recreation improvements and enhancements; and
WHEREAS, the Tigard Comprehensive Plan and the Tigard Park System Master Plan both call
for the completion of a continuous trial following the Tualatin River as it passes through the City,
and
WHEREAS, the City C nit has identified improvements to the Tualatin River Trail System as
high priority heed in the City of Tigard;; rid
WHEREAS, the constniction sof the Fanno Graaf Trail segment between Cook Park and the
Durham Park Trail is defined;in an application for federal'Land and Water Conservation Fund
assistance;
WHEREAS, the City hereby certifies that the matching hing shares for these applications are readily
available at this time,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Tigard City Council that:
Section : The City Manager is authorized to apply for a Land and Water Conservation Grant from
the Oregon Parrs and Recreation Department for the installation of a segment of the Tualatin
River"Tail as specified above.
EFFECTIVE DATE: This resolution is effective immediately pon passage.
