A RESOLUTION INITIATING ANNEXATION OF TERRITORY REFERRED TO AS ANNEXATION
(ZCA) 99-00011 —AREA 6—WALNUT ISLAND ANNEXATION INTO THE CITY OF TIGARD AS
DESCRIBED IN THE ATTACHED"EXHIBIT A"AND FURTHER ILLUSTRATED IN"EXIMIT B"
WHEREAS,the City of Tigard is authorized by ORS 222.750 to annex property not inside the city which is
surrounded by the corporate boundaries of the City; and
WHEREAS,the City of Tigard is authorized by ORS 222.120(5)and ORS 222.520 to withdraw properties which
currently lie within the boundary of the Tigard Water District, Was-Kington County Enhanced Sheriffs Patrol
District, Washington County Urban Roads Maintenance District,Washington County Street Lighting District#1,
and the Washington County Vector Control District upon completion of the annexation;and
WHEREAS,upon adoption of this resolution initiating the annexation, 1432o tine City of Tigard and withdrawal of
said properties from the Tigard Water District,Washington County Enhanced Sheriffs Patrol District,Washington
County Urban Roads Maintenance District, Washington County Street Lighting District 91,and the Washington
County Vector Control District,staff will begin the notice and review process required prior to a formal decision,
being made on the annexation;and
WHEREAS,the Tigard City Council finds it appropriate to initiate Annexation proceedings for the referenced
properties.
NOW,THEREFORE,BE IT RESOLVED LY THE TIGARD CITY COUNCIL THAT:
Section 1: The Tigard City Council hereby initiates consideration of the annexation and withdrawal
from the Tigard Water District,Washington County Enhanced Sheriffs Patrol District,
Washington County Urban Roads Maintenance District, Washington County Street
Lighting District#1,Unified Sewer Agency and the Washington County Vector Control
District of the parcels described in Exhibit"A"and Exhibit"B"and by reference,made
a part hereof.
Section 2: A public hearing is hereby called to be held by the City Council on Tuesday,February 8,
1999,at 7:30 PM in the Town Hall at Tigard City Hall,13125 SW Hall Boulevard,within
the City of Tigard,at which time and place any interested person may appear and be heard
for or against the proposed annexation.
Section 3: The City Recorder is hereby authorized and directed to begin the notice proceedings in
accordance with chapter 3.09 of the Metro Code on Local Government Boundary Changes,
ORS chapters 222,Measure 56 as codified in ORS 227 and the Tigard Development Code.
