A RESOLUTION OF THE TIGARD CITY COUNCIL TO ADOPT THE FISCAL YEAR 1996-97
SALARY SCHEDULE FOR MANAGEMENT/PROFESSIONAL EMPLOYEES,TO DIRECT ACTION
ON THE OREGON SUPREME COURT RULING REGARDING MEASURE 8 AND TO ORDER THE
REDUCTION OF THE CITY'S CONTRIBUTION TO THE RETIREMENT PLAN FOR
MANAGEMENT/PROFESSIONAL GROUP EMPLOYEES BY 1%PER FISCAL YEAR FOR FISCAL
YEARS 1996-97,1997-98,1998-99.
WHEREAS, the Tigard City Council supports the maintenance of an equitable and market appropriate
'salary structure for Management/Professional group employees;

WHEREAS,the Council has received and will implement the Oregon Supreme Court ruling regarding :
Measure 8;
WHEREAS,the Council has determined that the City will reduce its contribution to the retirement plan for r Yr r
Management/Professional group employees by 1%per year over the next three fiscal years;
NOW,THEREFORE,BE IT RESOLVED by the Tigard City Council that:
SECTION 1: An amended FY1996-97 Salary Schedule for ,Management/Professional Group
employees as specified in Exhibit A attached hereto is adopted.
SECTION 2: ,The 6%retirement contribution being made by Managemem/Professional Group

employees appointed prior to January 1,1995 will cease,and the 60/,currently being set s *xe' t
aside for these employees will be returned with interest at the local government pool x
rate.
${F SECTION 3: The 6%retirement contribution being made by Management/Professional Group
g employees appointed on or after January 1,1995 will cease. ",�'i�
SECTION 4: .The City's contribution to the retirement account of Management/Professional Group ,t
employees%vill increase to 14%with the payroll period ending June 22,1996,then will
bereduced by 1%per Fiscal Year in Fiscal Years 96-97,97-98,98-99,and wages will
increase by I%in each of those Fiscal Years for employees hired prior to January 1,
...1995.
