RESOLUTION NO. 86—_a--)—
A RESOLUTION OF THE TIGARD CITY COUNCIL INCRI=ASING GARBAGE RATES.
WHEREAS, the Utility and Franchise Committee met on January 1.3, 1986 and
reviewed the proposal of the solid waste disposal companies, and recommended
that an emergency increase consistent with Section 8(6) as approved by the
City Council; and
WHEREAS, on March 10, 1996, representatives of the solid waste disposal
companies serving the City of Tigard appeared before the Council to present
evidence in support of a request for rate increases due to an increase in the
amount charged by Metro at the disposal facilities for operating costs
effective January 1, 1986; and
WHEREAS, the City Council recognizes the need for prompt action to ensure a
timely "pass 'through" of this 'increase cost; and
WHEREAS, the City Council has requested that the Utility and Franchise
Committee establish criteria for future review of rates to be applied as early
as September, 1986, and annually thereafter.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Tigard City Council that:
Section 1: The Tigard City Council wishes to increase current garbage
franchise collection rates to reflect a complete pass through of
operating expenses, to be effective April 1, 1986, and shall
continue until Committee review and Council action in September,
1986. Said increases are reflected in the attached Exhibit "A".
