RESOLUTION NO. 84 �
A RESOLUTION OF THE TIGARD CITY COUNCIL CALLING A REGULAR ELECTION TO BE HELD
ON NOVEMBER 6, 1984, IN CONJUNCTION WITH THE STATE-WIDE ELECTION, FOR THE
PURPOSE OF SUBMITTING TO THE REGISTERED QUALIFIED VOTERS OF THE CITY OF TIGARD
NAMES OF CANDIDATES FOR THE POSITIONS OF MAYOR AND COUNCIL POSITIONS #1 AND #2.
WHEREAS, the terms of these offices expire December 31, 1984; and
WHEREAS, the City has received qualified nominating petitions and
the nominees have accepted nominations for the positions.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Tigard City Council that:
Section 1. A regular election is hereby called to held in the City of Tigard
on November 6, 1984, between the hours of 8:00 a.m. and 8:00 p.m_ Pacific Time
at the polling places designated in Exhibit A for the purpose of submitting to
the registered, qualified voters of the City of Tigard names of candidates for
the positions of Mayor, Council #1, and Council #2 as set forth in the
--ached Exhibit B.
Section 2. The following candidates' names will appear on the ballot at the
November 6, 1984 election for the positions as indicated:
Office of Mayor: Vote for 1 for a two year term commencing January
Ar` 1, 1985.
John E. Cook
Council Position #I: Vote for 1 for a four year term commencing
January 1, 1985.
Jerry Edwards
Bob Wyffels
Council Position #2: Vote for 1 for a four year term commencing
January 1, 1985.
Phil Edin
Section 3. The City Recorder is hereby authorized and directed to certify in
the manner provided by law to the Director of Recorfls and Elections of
Washington County, Oregon, the foregoing positions for inclusion on the ballot
to be prepared by such Director for voting at all precincts u ithin the City of
Tigard, as set forth in Exhibit A herein, at the regular election of November
6, 1984.
