Resolution No. 82-39 i CITY OF TIGARD, OREGON RESOLUTION NO. 82- A 2-A RESOLUTION REQUESTING ACTION BY THE WASHINGTON COUNTY BOARD OF COUNTY COMMIS- SIGNERS AND TO INITIATE PROHIBITIONS TO THROUGH TRUCK TRAFFIC ON S.W. DURHAM ROAD. E WHEREAS, S.W. Durham Road (between S.W. Pacific Highway and S.W. Hall Blvd) lies within the City of Tigard and Washington County and the State of Oregon; and WHEREAS, said roadway is presently under tate jurisdiction of Washinvton County, and the State of Oregon, for operational and maintenance purposes; and WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Tigard, Oregon, aware on account of its members direct contact with traffic in the area and, in addition, having had the recommendation of its Chief of Police and Director of Public Works, is of the opinion that in order to protect the public from unnecessary safety hazards and roadway maintenance expenses associated with heavy vehicle traffic; and WHEREAS, under applicable provisions of law, the aforementioned public agencies may make such prohibition, if requested, by local authority; NOW, THEREFORE, IT IS HEREBY RESOLVED: Section 1: The City Council of the City of Tigard, Oregon, hereby expresses the desire and recommendation that the Washington County Board of County Commissioners initiate action to prohibit through truck t-raffic for IE vehicles over 30,000 GVW on the roadways in question. Section 2: The City Council of the City of Tigard, Oregon, directs that this resolution is to be forwarded to the Washington County Board of County Commissioners and to the Oregon State, by the City Recorder, immediately upon passage.
