A RESOLUTION OF ADVICE TO THE WASHINGTON COUNTY BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS.
WHEREAS, information has been received through the media that the Board of !!
Commissioners of Washington County is contemplating passing on to t
the taxing entities of the County, the County costs of assessment and
taxation; and,
WHEREAS, it appears that the proposal is to pass on all the costs, irrespective
of
the statutory..:requirements`peculiar.to the.County; and,
WHEREAS, the proposal is generally too late in the budget preparation process
to allow any inclusions in Fiscal 1976-77 budget; and,
WHEREAS, the process has not been discussed in an affirmative manner with
the taxing entities; and,
WHEREAS, the citizens of the incorporated areas of the County already pay .
for the costs of the tax collection process through the medium Uf
property taxes paid to the County.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City of Tigard foes
' respectfully request the Washington County Board of Commissioners abandon
,.. I,-,; the proposal for Fiscal 1976-77.

........... v BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Board be encouraged to evaluate
its proposal with the taxing entities being presented on a Study Commission
to be appointed by the Board of Commissioners.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the charge of such Committee include
a determination of added County costs due to collection of taxes for the
a�7�r respective taxing bodies. '`
