Resolution No. 76-06 CITY OF TIGARD, OREGON RESOLUTION No. 76 - -_ RESOLUTION OF THE TIGARD CITY COUNCIL COM"IITTING THE ASSISTANCE OF THE TIGARD PUBLIC WORKS DEPARTMENT AND THE TIGARD PLANNING DEPARTMENT TOWARD CONSTRUCTION OF THE MAIN STREET BEAUTIFICATION DEMONSTRATION PROJECT AS PROPOSED BY RE-PAC. WHEREAS, Re-Pac (Redevelopment Planning Advisory Committee) is a civic improvement volunteer organization, appointed by Council for the purpose of developing and implementing plans for the improve- ment and beautification of the Downtown Area; and WHEREAS, Re-Pac has retained the services of a landscape architect and prepared a one block demonstration landscape plan (exhibit "A") and finance plan (exhibit "B") acceptable to the property owners and lessees in the project area; and WHEREAS, the Council finds that the proposed improvements will benefit the downtown business community and that the addition of planter islands in the public right-of-way will not pose a hazard to vehicular or pedestrian traffic, NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Tigard that: The City of Tigard Public Works Department and the Planning Department shall assist in the construction of the demonstrat- ion project. According to the schedule proposed on the attached finance plan, the City shall provide the labor necessary to complete the project, which shall commence in February, 1976.
