RESOLUTION No. 75--d—
A RESOLUTION COMMEMORATING MARY A. WOODWARD FOR HER EXTENSIVE
CIVIC INVOLVEMENT AND IMPROVEMENT ACTIVITIES IN TIGARD AND
EXPRESSING THE CITY'S APPRECIATION FOR HER MANY AND VARIED
CONTRIBUTIONS IN THE FIELDS OF EDUCATION, CONSERVATION AND
CITIZENSHIP.
WHEREAS, Mary A. Woodward has been actively involved in
activities and programs in the Tigard area for 22 years as an
educator, conservationist and teacher of responsible citizenship;
and
WHEREAS, Mary A. Woodward's involvement in the community,
through such diverse activities as tree planting programs, plant
material donations to the City, pollution abatement campaigns,
organization of the Tigard Women's Club and the Tigard Junior
Women's Club, conservation education programs and citizenship
education, as well as an impressive record of active involvement
in Tigard area service organizations, has resulted in a better
informed citizenry to the betterment of the entire community;
and
WHEREAS, Mary A. Woodward has left her positive mark on the
lives of those persons with whom she has come into contact
whether they be youth or adult; and
WHEREAS, the Tigard City Council wishes to express the City's
appreciation to Mary A. Woodward for her positive and tangible
improvements of Tigard;
NOW, THEREFORE,
BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of Tigard, Oregon hereby
Individually and collectively expresses its sincere appreciation
in behalf of the City of Tigard to Mary A. Woodward for her many
and varied contributions in the fields of education, conservation
and citizenship and orders that$tis resolution be presented to
Mary A. Woodward and that a copy of this resolution be spread
upon the Journal of the City for permanent retention.
