A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE CITY ADMINISTRATOR TO ENTER INTO A RADIO AND
ELECTRONIC MAINTENANCE AGREEMENT WITH VALLEY COMMUNICATIONS OF PORTLAND OREGON
WHEREAS, the City Council deems it desirable to enter into an agreement
designed to assure timely preventive maintenance and service on its radio and
electronicequipment for the purpose of assuring prompt repair, prolonging useful
life, reducing the incidence of failure and stabilizing costs; and
WHEREAS, the City has solicited proposals for provision of such service; and
WHEREAS, Valley Communications of Portland Oregon has submitted the lowest
responsible proposal for providing said service,a copy of which proposal is attached
hereto and made a part hereof by reference.
NOW, THEREFORE, be it resolved by the Tigard City Council that:
Section 1: The City Administrator is hereby authorized to enter into an agreement,
in behalf of the City, with Valley Communications for Radio and
Electronic maintenance service for the remainder of the 1974-75 fiscal
year in accordance with the monthly unit costs listed in the attached
proposal under Schedule B. The City Administrator is further
authorized to add to or delete the number of radios and other
electronxc equipment to be serviced under the service agreement from
time to time,at the same unit cost rate applicable to the type of
equipment involved, as equipment changes or as deemed advisable under
circumstances of cash flow needs, equipment age or other factors.

Valley. Communications is pleased to present the following quotations
for the service of your communications system. Per our recent discussion
two basic plans are submitted for your consideration. These schedules pre-
sent two extremes, each can be Cadified to suit your needs. Both, except
as indicated, provide service at your location, cover scheduled preventive
maintenance checks, and all parts and labor for malfunctions due to fair
wear and tear.
SCHEDULE A
1. Service provided Monday thru Friday (except holidays)
from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
{ 2. Base statann equipment preventive maintenance checks at 1
least twice each year.
3. Mobile and portable equipment preventive maintenance
i! checks at least once each year.
4. Portable unit replacement batteries not covered.
` 5. Base station antennas:: and transmission lines not covered.
i 6. Mobile radio unit removals $10.00, installations 560.00.
Installation or removal of light bars and sirens are not
included, however, interconnection and minor wiring will
be provided at no extra charge.
SCHEDULE B
1. Service provided on Base Station equipment 24 hours a day,
7 days per week.
2. Service on mobile radio units 8:00 a.m. thru 5:00 p.m.
Monday thru Friday (excluding holidays) except if two
or more units are out of service the schedule will revert
to a 24 hour basis.

(` Whichever service schedule is selected it will be in effect for
�• an initial term of one year. The agreement shall be continued for addi-
tional yearly periods, however, either party may terminate this agree-
ment by notice in writing given to the other not less than thirty days
prior to the and of the Initial term, or thirty days prior the the end
of any subsequent term.
