A RESOLUTION CREATING A CITY COUNCIL ADVISORY COMMITTEE ON NOISE, AND DELINEATING
THE SCOPE OF ACTIVITY OF SAID COMMITTEE.
WHEREAS, the City of Tigesd is exresiencing rapid growth and population increase;
and
WHEREAS, concurrent with said growth, the incidence of occurrence of loud or
objectionable noises has increased as witnessed by an increasing number
of noise complaints from the citizenry; and
WHEREAS, the Tigard City Council desires that a study of noise levels and
sources be made to determine the extent of the problem and whether
remedial action in the form of ordinances, regulations, or other public activities
is desirable within the City of Tigard.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Tigard City Council that:
Section is There is hereby created a City Council Advisory Committee on Noise.
Said Committee's purpose and function shall be to perform appropriate
study and research regarding noise levels and sources in the City
of Tigard and to report to City Council the results of said study
and research complete with recommendations for further City action
as appropriate.
Section 2: The City Council Advisory Committee on Noise (C.C.A.C.N.) shall consist
of five (5) members appointed by the City Council and shall be a
temporary committee that shall automatically be disbanded upon
completion of its charged responsibilities unless otherwise
directed by the Council.
