Resolution No. 71-10 RESOLUTION NO. 71-10 RESOLUTION CERTIFYING RESULTS OF ELECTION, DECLARING TAX LEVY AND CERTIFYING THE AMOUNT OF TOTAL TAXES AND DIRECTING THE CITY RECORDER TO FILE THE BUDGET WITH THE PROPER PUBLIC OFFICES. WHEREAS, the budget for the City of Tigard for the year beginning July 1, 1971, was duly approved by the regularly constituted budget committee at its meeting of May 3, 1971, after proceedings in accordance with Chapter 294, Oregon Revised Statutes, and WHEREAS, a summary of the budget document as required by Chapter 294.416, Oregon Revised Statutes, was duly published in the Tigard Times, a,newspaper of general circulation in the City in accordance with Chapter 294.421, Oxc.gon Revised Statutes, and WHEREAS, a hearing by the City Council on the bidget doeume"t as thus approved by the budget committee was duly called and held on the 24th day of May, 1971, whereat all interested per- sons were afforded an opportunity to appear and be heard with respect to the said budget, and WHEREAS, the said total operating fund budget as thus approved required a levy in the total sum of $112,866.00 in excess of the tax base of the City of Tigard, and by Ordinance No. 71-_2_ an election was duly called, publicized and held within the City on the 7th: day of June, 1971, whereat of the total votes cast, 276 favored the levy, and 149 voted against the levy and that the measure therefore sassed NOW, THEREFORE, IT IS HEREBY RESOLVED as follows: (1) That the budget for the year beginning July 1, 1971, and ending June 30, 1972, copy whereof is hereto attached and by this reference made a part hereof, be, and the same is hereby, adopted; (2) That the approporiation shown by said budget for each fund and particularly with respect to the general fund and the levy set forth therein with respect to the general fund, and each other fetnd, are hereby appropriated, determined and declared as the tax levy for such gurposes; that the total taxes to be certified for levy for all funds accordance with said budget is the sum of $239759•-00, which is hereby determined, declared and certified by the City ^ouncil for the year beginning July 1, 1971, and eliding 7 June 30, 1972; (3) That the City Recorder and the Mayoi,be;. and'•they are hereby, respectively authorized and directed to certify the levy to the Department of Revenue and Taxation of Washington County, Oregon, and to file a copy of the budget with the Department of Revenue of the State of Oregon, Salem.
