Resolution No. 71-05 C / t RESOLUTION No. 71 WHEREAS, the City of Tigard has maintained traffic accident records indicating causative factors for motor vehicle accidents on 99-W; and 1 WHEREAS, the city is near completion of a traffic safety study that recommends improvements to signalization that will improve capacity and safety on 99-W, and WHEREAS, the City Council has established improvements to the existing traffic signal system on 99-W as the highest priority in a ranking of needed community improvements, and WHEREAS, the City has been allocated $11,192.00 as the Federal Share of improvements developed under the TOPICS program, and WHEREAS, the Oregon State Highway Division has expressed an intention to assist the city with improvements to the traffic signals on 99-W, and WHEREAS, the city is participating in the development of an area-wide Topics Plan with the Columbia Region Association of Governments, NOW, THEREFORE, ' BE IT RESOLVED by the Tigard City Council as follows: The Tigard City Council hereby authorizes the Mayor and City Administrator to make application on the city's behalf for the full amount of the 1971 allocated TOPICS funds for the purpose of pre-tiring the four existing traffic signals located at the intersections of 99-W at the Fred Meyer entrance, Highway 217, Hall Boulevard and Greenburg Road respectively.
