RESOLUTION C_4NVASSIIU RETURNS OF REGULAR CITY ELECTION AND
PROCLAIMING RESULT AND DIRECTING RECORDER TO ISSUE CERTIFICATE OF
ELECTION TO EACH SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATE.
WHEREAS, there has been certified to the City by the Director
of the Department of Records and Elections of Washington County,
Oregon, the following returns of the election held in the City of
Tigard on November 5, 1968, as a part of the state-wide general
election whereat there was submitted to the electors the matter of
electing councilmen to fill three vacancies:
Nominees:
E. G. "Bud" Kyle
Robert C. Moore
Thomas 1.. O'Halloren
and
47HERFAS, pursuant to Section 27 of the Charter of the City
of Tigard, the Council is required to canvass the said returns and
proclaim the results and the Recorder is required to execute and furn-
ish to each elected person a certificate of election; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 8 of the Charter of the City of Tigard
of the candidates so elected, the two receiving the highest number of
votes shall be elected each for a term of four years and the candidate
receiving the third highest number of votes shall be elected to a two-
year t_rm;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of
Tigard as follows:
That the returns of election as certified to the City Recorder
by the Department of Records and Elections of Washington County,
Oregon, be and the same is hereby canvassed and the results declared
as follows:

IT IS HEREBY FURTHER RESOLVED and proclaimed that:
?t Thomas M. O'Halloran is electees as Councilman to
serve a term of four years, beginning January 1, 1969;
Robert C. Moore is elected as Councilman to serve
a term of four years, beginning January 1, 1969; and
E. G. "Bud" Kyle is elected as Councilman to serve
t a term of two years, beginning January 12 1969.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Recorder be and she is here-
by directed to enter a copy of this resolution inthe record of the
journal of the proceedings of this Council and the City recorder
be and she is hereby directed to sign a certificate of election of
each of the above persons and deliver the certificate to each of them
within one day after the day of this canvass.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Recorder notify each of
said persons so elected before entering upon the duties of his
office to take an oath of office in accordance with Section 30 of the
Charter of the City of Tigard.
