AN ORDINANCE AMENDING TITLE 7 OF THE TIGARD MUNICIPAL CODE BY ADOPTING A
NEW SECTION 7.32.180 PROHIBITING CONSUMPTION OF ALCOHOLIC BEVERAGES IN
PUBLIC PLACES
WHEREAS, the City of Tigard City Council finds that it is in the best interest of public peace, safety and
health to prohibit the consumption of alcoholic beverages in unlicensed public places,
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY OF TIGARD ORDAINS AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1: Section 7.32.180 is added to Title 12, Chapter 32 of the Tigard Municipal Code to read
as follows:
7.32.180 Public Consumption of Alcoholic Beverage
(a) No person shall consume any alcoholic beverage in or upon any public place or
premise open to the public, unless the public place or premise open to the public has
been licensed by the Oregon Liquor Control Commission. For the purpose of this
section, "public place" and "premise open to the public" does not include parks.
(b) A person who violates this section commits a violation punishable by a fine of not
more than $250.
SECTION 2: This ordinance shall be effective 30 days after its passage by the Council, signature by
the Mayor, and posting by the City Recorder.
