AN ORDINANCE AMENDING THE COMPREHENSIVE PLAN MAP - LAND USE, THE BUILDABLE
LANDS INVENTORY MAP, THE BUILDABLE LANDS INVENTORY CONTAINED IN URBANIZATION
VOLUME I - RESOURCE DOCUMENT CHAPTER 18.56 OF THE COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT CODE
AND CHAPTER 18.40 OF THE COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT CODE AS ORIGINALLY ADOPTED BY
ORDINANCE 83-52 AND DECLARING AND EMERGENCY.
WHEREAS, the City of Tigard adopted a Comprehensive Plan for the City by
Ordinance 83-52 on November 9, 1983; and
WHEREAS, the Comprehensive Plan was submitted to the Land Conservation and
Development Commission (LCDC) on November 18, 1983; and
WHEREAS, the Land Conservation and Development Commission held an
acknowledgement hearing of Tigard's Comprehensive Plan on April 26, 1984; and
WHEREAS, AT THE April 26, 1984, LCDC Hearing, The Commission voted to continue
acknowledgement on Goal # 10 Housing, because the City of Tigard does not meet
the Metropolitan Housing Rule requiring 10 units per acre; and
j WHEREAS, a public hearing was held before the Planning Commission on June 12,
\^, 1984, to consider the In Order to Comply Statements and a recommendation was
made to the City Council; and
WHEREAS, a public hearing was held before the City Council on June 25, 1984,
for Council consideration of the Planning Commission's recommendation; and
WHEREAS, the Council adopted a resolution on June 25, 1984, initiating the
Comprehensive Plan Amendment process; and
WHEREAS, a public hearing was held before the Planning Commission on July 10,
1984, to consider increasing , -e density in the medium high density zone from
20 to 25 units per acre and a recommendation was made to City Council; and
WHEREAS, a public hearing was held before the City Council on July 23, 1984,
for Council consideration of the Planning Commission recommendation.
THE CITY OF TIGARD ORDAINS AS FOLLOWS:
Section l: The Legend of the Comprehensive Plan Map — Land Use shall be
amended as shown below. Language to be deleted is shown in
[brackets]. Language to be added is underlined.
Medium High Density-----(13 - [20] 25) UNITS/ACRE
Section 2: The ' Buildable Lands Inventory continued in Volume i
Urbanization shall be amended as shown in EXHIBIT A attached.
Section 3: The Buildable Lands Inventory Map shall be amended as shown in
Exhibit B attached.
ORDINANCE NO.-Z
Section 4: Chapter 18.56 of the Community Development Code shall be amended
to replace "R-20" with "R-25", wherever R-20 is shown.
Section 5: Section 18.56.050 A. 5. shall be amended as shown below. [
Language to be added is underlined. Language to be deleted is
shown in [brackets].
"5. For each multi-family unit 1,742 [1,850] square feet."
Section 6: Section 18.40.010 of the Community Development Code shall be
amended as follows. Language to be added is underlined.
Language to be deleted is shown in [brackets].
"Medium High Density
Multiple Family Residential [R-20] R-25 [20] 25 [1,850]
Section 7: Inasmuch as it is necessary for the peace, health and safety of
the people of the City of Tigard that this amendment be made
with the least possible delay, an emergency is hereby declared
to exist, and this ordinance shall become effective immediately
upon passage by the Council and approval by the Mayor.
