Ordinance No. 84-16 CITY OF TIGARD, OREGON
ORDINANCE NO. 84-
AN ORDINANCE AMENDING TMC SECTION 2.06.010 AND REPEALING SECTION 2.06.050 AND
DECLARING AN EMERGENCY.
THE CITY OF TIGARD ORDAINS AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1: Section 2.06.010 of the Tigard Municipal Code shall be amended so
that the following Section 2.06.010 of the Municipal Code shall read as
follows, the underlined language being added and the bracketed language being
deleted:
"2.06.010 Residency Required--Affected Positions. All persons employed
full-time by the City of Tigard in the positions named in this ordinance are
hereby required to establish permanent residency within the boundaries of
Clackamas, Multnomah and Washington Counties of the State of Oregon [city
limits or within the area designated as Tigard's Immediate Urban Growth
Boundary] within 120 days following the end of the probationary period. The
affected positions are the following: City Administrator, Chief of Police,
Planning Director, Public Works Director, Head Librarian, and Finance
Director. Any person hired or appointed to be the chief administrative
officer of any other department of the city hereafter created shall also be
required to comply with the terms of this ordinance."
^ v= Section 2: Section 2.06.050 of the Tigard Municipal Code shall be repealed.
Section 2: Inasmuch as it is necessary for the peace, haith and safety of
the people of the
City ci Tigard that this amendment be made with the. least
possible delay, an emergency is hereby declared to exist, and this ordinance
shall become effective immediately upon passage by the Council and approval by
