Ordinance No. 81-48 CITY OF TIGARD, OREGON
ORDINANCE No. 81— 48
AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE No. 81-41 WHICH CALLED FOR A SPECIAL ELECTION TO
SUBMIT TO VOTERS AT THE JUNE 30, 1981 ELECTION A TAX LEVY FOR CONSTRUCTION OF
BICYCLE PATHS/PEDESTRIAN WALKWAYS AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY,
The City Council has determined that voters of the City should decide whether
certain bicycle paths/pedestrian walkways in the City should be built with funds F
collected by tax, and it is therefore necessary to submit the following proposition to
x the voters of the City at a special election called and held for that purpose.
This same determination was previously made by the City Council by Ordinance
-.' No. 81-16, and it was the intent of the City Council that the question be placed
on the ballot for the May 19, 1981 election. The question was erroneously
omitted in the preparation of the ballot for that special election, and it is therefore
w necessary to place this matter on the ballot at the next available special election.
The City Council has further determined that the ballot language as previously
set forth in Ordinance No. 81--41 is deficient and must be amended to reflect
that the State of Oregon will not be financing any portion of the proposed tax levy.
x`
