AN ORDINANCE AMENDING Section 2(c) of Ordinance No. 70-44
(Fire Prevention Code) WITH RESPECT TO ON-SITE FIRE PROTECTION FACIL-
ITIES.

THE CITY OF TIGARD ORDAINS AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1: That Section 2(c) of Ordinance No. 70-44 (Fire Prevention
Code) be, and the same is, hereby amended to read as
follows:

"Section 2 (c) On-site Facilities Required.
"Fire Hydrants shall be installed and so located
that all portions of any commercial or industrial build-
ing, or any residential structure having three or more g.
dwelling units, shall be within 250 feet of a hydrant,
and each single-family residential structure and the
whole thereof shall be within 400 feet of a hydrant.
"The distances herein indicated shall be subject to e
measurement alorg the most directly accessible course
from the hydrant at normal ground or street level, any
necessary distance of deviation from a direct course by
reason of intervening ground structures to be included in
said measurement.
"The Fire Chief may prescribe that the development
include installation of such on-site fire protection
facilities as in his Judgment are necessary to provide an
adequate water supply on the land to be developed. Said
installation shall be at the expense of the owner or '
developer.
"All fa.cillties required to be installed hereunder �
shall be approved by and meet the specifications of the
Fire Chief and the Public Works Director as to location, �
size and type of materials, and manner of installation.
All inspection costs shall be paid by the owner or developer".
Section 22: This orrltnan-^e shall become effective orAnd after the
the 3igt day after its passage by the Council and approval
of the Mayor.
