AS HERETOFORE AMENDED BY ADDING THERETO A NEW SECTION DENOTED SECTION
IA THEREOF, E14POWERING AND DIRECTING THE CITY ADMINISTF.ATOR TO PER-
FORM CERTAIN DUTIES IN CONNECTION THEREWITH AND PRESCRIBING AN EF-
FECTIVE DATE
THE CITY OF TIGARD ORDAINS AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1: Chapter IX "additional provisions" of Ordinance #66-20
as enacted by the Council of the City of Tigard on the
11th day of April, 1966, be, and the same is hereby, amended and
supplemented by adding thereto a new section denoted Section 1A,
reading as follows:
Section IA: Subject to the autnority vested in the
State Highway Commission and subject to the
provisions of Section 483.044, Oregon Revised Statutes,
the City Administrator of the City of Tigard be, and he
is hereby, authorized and directed to cause to have
erected, installed and maintained appropriate signs,
markings and traffic control signals as may be deemed
nee:.jsary to direct and regulate traffic and carry out
the provisions of this Code, including such signs as
may be appropriate to give noticc of local parking and
other special regulation .
The erection and maintenance of such signs,
markings and signals within the City of Tigard by direction
of the City Administrator shall be deemed an administrative
act to be performed under the authority granted by Section
483.044, Oregon Revised Statutes, and the provisions of
this Ordinance.
The City Administrator shall compile and maintain
as part of the records of his office, a register of all
signs, signals, markings and other traffic controls in-
stalled, erected or placed pursuant thereto, Ghowing the
following information with respect to each thereof:
a. Action taken;
b. Date of the action;
c. Location of the action;
d. Description and purpose of each sign as placed;
Section 2: It shall be unlawful for the driver or operator of any
vehicle, whether motorized or non-motorized, to disobey
the instructions of any officer, traffic sign or signal placed in ac-
cordance with the providons of this section and code unless otherwise
directed by a police officer. (§483.128, Oregon Revised Statutes).
Section 3: This ordinance shall become and be effective on and after
the 31st day from its passage by. the Council and approval
by the Mayor.
