ORDINANCE No.68-
AN ORDINANCE SLITTING HERRING UITH RESPECT TO PETITION PRO-
POSING ANNEXATION OF LANDS TO ThE CITY OF TIGARD IN SECTION 10,
T2S, RIW, W,1,1., HASHINGTON COUNTY, OREGON, COMMONLY DESIGNATED ThE
"CANTERBURY CREST ANNEXATION", DIRECTIIG THE GIVING OF NOTICE, AND
DECLARING AN EMERGENCY.
WHEREAS, there has heretofore been filed with the City Re-
corder of the City of Tigard, petition for annexation of certain
lands in Section 10, T2S, KW, W.N., Wa,5hington County, Oregon, as
hereinafter described; and
WHEREAS, said premises are contiguous to the City of Tigard
and not within the corporate liT,ito of any other City, and lie
wholly within the County of Washington, State of Oregon; and
WHEREAS, it appears from said petition that of the o.Jnerships
of all tracts included within the total area, more than two-thirds
of the land owners owning more than two--thirds of the land repre-
senting more than two-thirds of the assessed value have joined in
said petition and have thereby consented to the annexation of the
respective tracts and the total area tc the City of Tigard;
NOW, THEREFORE,
THE CITY OF TIGARD ORDAINS AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1: That the City Council of the City of Tigard does hereby
elect to dispense with submitting the question cf the
annexation of the hereinafter described premises to the registered
voters of the City.
Section 2: That Monday, the 2- day of Deceraber, 1968, at the hour
i- o£ 8:00 p.m., at fhe City Hall in the City of Tigard,
be, and the same axe, hereby fixed as the date, time and place for
public hearing before the City Council o£ Tigard of the petition of
ANNEX-
land owners within the area designated as the "bed lands CREST ANNEX-
ATION" for annexation of the hereinafter described lands to the City
of Tigard, and all registered voters of the City may appear at said
time and place and be heard on the question of said annexation.

Section 3: The City Recorder of the City of Tigard be, and she is
hereby directed to give notice of said hearing by pub-
lication once each week .for two successive weeks, or three publish-
ings in all, prior to the date of the hearing, in the Tigard Times,
a newspaper of general circulation in the City, and said Recorder
be, and she is hereby, further directed to post notice of said
hearing in four public places in the City of Tigard for a like period.
Section 4: That the arm proposed to be annexed be, and the Same is
described on the attached sheet headed "DESCRIPTION"
which by reference herein is made part hereof.
Sention 5: Inasmuch as the hearing of the petition for annexation of
the lands herein described should be conducted with the

least possible delay, an emergency is hereby declared to exist, and
it is declared to be necessary for the peace, health and safety of
y the City of Tigard that this ordinance become effective upon its
passage by the Council. and signature by the Mayor.
PASSED: By the Council, by unanimous vote of all Council members
present, after being read three times by number and
title only, this 25th day of November, 1968.

described as follows:

PLACE, Washington County, Oregon, being a point on cne Easterly
line of S.W. Pacific Hwy.; thence Southeasterly along the South-
westerly
