Ordinance No. 66-31 CITY OF TIGARD, OREGON ORDINANCE No. 66 - '?I .. AN ORDINANCE DESIGNATING AND ESTABLISHING THE MUNICIPAL JAIL OF THE CITY OF BEAVERTON, AND THE COUNTY JAIL AT HILLSBORO, WASHING- TON COUNTY, OREGON, AS THE OFFICIAL JAILS OR PRISONS FOR THE RECEPTION AND CONFINEMENT OF PRISONERS OF THE CITY OF TIGARD, AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. - WHEREAS, The City of Tigard has no facilities complying with the requirements of Chapter 169 Oregon Revised Statutes for the reception and confinement of prisoners; and WHEREAS, the County Jail of Washington County at Hillsboro, and the Municipal Jail of the City of Beaverton have been constructed and are operated in compliance with Chapter 169 O.R.S.; and WHEREAS, under the terms of agreements entered into respect- ively with Washington County, Oregon and the City of Beaverton, there has been made available to the City of Tigard for the reception and confinement of prisoners, the ,jail facilities of each of said Washington County and the City of Beaverton in accordance with the terms and conditions of said agreements, NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY OF TIGARD ORDAINS AS FOLLOWS: Section 1: That the County Jail of Washington County, Oregon, at the Courthouse In Hillsboro, be, and the same is, hereby designated as a ,jail or prison for the reception and confine- ment onfinement of prisoners of the City of Tigard. Section 2: That the Municipal Jail of the City of Beaverton, at 450 S. Hall, Beaverton, Oregon, be, and the same is, hereby designated as a jail or prison for the reception and confine- ment of prisoners of the City of Tigard. Section 3: That the terms of such use of the said facilities by the City of Tigard shall be in accordance with agreements entered into between the City of Tigard and Washington County, Oregon and the City of Beaverton, respectively, and this ordinance shall continue in full force and effect during continance of said agreements. Section 4: InasTr-^' u the City of Tigard has no facilities for ti �ception and confinement of prisoners, and it is necessary f; the peace, health and safety of the people of Tigard that immediate provision be made for the roception, confinement and detention of prisoners of the City of Tigard, an emergency is hereby declared to exist , and this Ordinance shall be effective upon its passage by the City Council and approval by the Mayor.
