AN ORDINANCE SETTING HEARING WITH RESPECT TO ANNEXATION
PROPOSALS SUBMITTED TO THE VOTERS OF THE AREAS PROPOSED TO BE
ANNEXED BY ORDINANCES Nos. 66-14, 66-15, 66-16 and 66-17 DULY
APPROVED ON APRIL 11, 1966, INCLUDING THE "WEST ANNEXATION PROPOSAL",
"NORTHWEST ANNEXATION PROPOSAL", " SOUTHEAST ANNEXATI--N PROPOSAL"
and"SUMMER HILLS PARK ANNEXATION PROPOSAL", AND DIRECTING GIVING
OF NOTICE THEREOF.
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Tigard has hereto-
fore by Ordinances Nos. 66-14, 66-15, 66-16 and 66-17 duly approved
on April 11, 1966, submitted to the voters of the areas as in said
Ordinances described, the question of annexing the same to the City
of Tigard; and
WHEREAS, the said areas are contiguous to the City of Tigard
and not within the corporate limits of any other city, and lie
wholly within the County of Washington, State of Oregon; and
WHEREAS, it appears that said premises may properly be
annexed to the City of Tigard if she annexation thereof is approved
by the Voters thereof voting in the election of May 24, 1966; and
WHEREAS, a particular description of each of the areas with
respect to which the voters thereof will ballot on the araiaxaticn
proposal on May 24, 1966 is individually described on the attached
sheets respectively headed "Exhibit All, "Exhibit B"., "Exhibit C" and
"Exhibit D";
NOW, THEREFORE,
THE CITY OF TIGARD ORDAINS AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1: That the City Council of the City of Tigard does hereby
elect to dispense with submitting the question of the
annexation of the hereinafter described premises to the registered
voters of the City.
Section 2: That in the event- the election returns certified by
the County Clerk of Washington County, Ore-,on shall

the 13th day of June , 1966 at the hour of 8:00 p.m., at the
City Hall in the City 6f Tigard, ba, and the same are, hereby fixed
as the date, time and place for public hearing before the City Council
of the proposals for annexation of the tracts described in Exhibits
A, B, C and D, and a separate hearing shall be held at said time and
place by the City Council on each of said proposals, and all regis-
tered voters of the City may appear at said time and place and be
heard on the annexation of each of said areas.

Section_ 3: That the City Recorder of the City of Tigard be, and
she is, hereby direc ted to give notice of said hear-
ing by publication once each week for two successive weeks, or three
publishings in all, prior to the date of the hearing, in the Tigard
\ Times, a newspaper of general circulation in the City, and said
Recorder be, and she is, hereby further directed to post notices of
said hearing in four public places in the City of Tigard for a like
period.
Section 4: That the areas proposed to be annexed, be, and the same
are, hereby described on the attached Exhibits A, B,
C and D, which by reference herein are made a part hereof.
Section 5: Inasmuch as the hearing of the proposals for annexation
of the lands herein described should be conducted with
the least possible delay, an emergency is hereby declared to exist,
and it is declared to be necessary for the peace, health and safety
of the City of Tigard that this Ordinance become effective upon its
passage by the Council and signature by the Mayor.
