Ordinance No. 66-07 CITY OF TIGARD, OREGON ORDINANCE No.66 - AN ORDINANCE ANNEXING TO THE CITY OF TIGARD, OREGON, LANDS OF Oregon Education Association, IN HE 1/4 OF SE 1/4 OF SECTION 36, TIS, R1W, W.M.,WASHINGTON COUNTY, OREGON, COMMONLY KNOWN AS THE "OEA ANNEXATION" WHEREAS, a petition for the annexation of the hereinafter described lands, i.n due and 'legal form, was presented to the City Council of the City of Tigard on January 10, 1966; and WHEREAS, the owners of the said lands by said petition have consented to the annexation of said area to the City of Tigard;and WHEREAS, the Area hereinafter described is contiguous to the City of Tigard and is wholly within the County of Washington and none of said area is included within the boundaries of any other incorporated city; and WHEREAS, by Ordinance No. 66-3 duly passed by the City Council of the City of Tigard on the 10th day of January, 1966, the City Council of Tigard did elect to dispense with submitting the question of annexation of said area to the registered voters, and a hearing was called to be held on the 14th day of February, 1966 at 8:00 p.m. at the City Hall on Main Street in the City of Tigard, with respect to said petition for the annexation of the hereinafter described area; and WHEREAS, notice of said hearing was given by publication once each week for two successive weeks, or three publishings in all, prior to said hearing, in the Tigard Times, a newspaper of general circulation in the City of Tigard, and by posting notice of said hearing in four public places within the City of Tigard, as more fully appears from the affidavits of publication and posting in the records and files of the City of Tigard; and WHEREAS, a hearing with respect to said petition for annexa- tion was duly and regularly held, at the regular meeting of the Cit#y. Council cn February 14, 1965 at 8:00 p.m. in the City Hall, Main Street in the City of Tigard, whereat the owner of said premises, OREGON EDUCATION ASSOCIATION, appeared by agent in favor of said annexation, and no one appeared in opposition to said annexation; and WHEREAS, after due deliberation, the City Council of Tigard, in regular meeting assembled on February 14, 1966, duly passed a motion favoring the annexation of the hereinafter described area; NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY OF TIGARD ORDAINS AS FOLLOWS: Section l: That the lands of OREGON EDUCATION ASSOCIATION be, and the same are, hereby annexed to the City of Tigard,Oregon and the boundaries of the City of Tigard are hereby extended to include the said lands, described as follows: 4# Page 1 - ORDINANCE No. 66- 7_ { Section 2: That the Recorder of the City of Tigard be, and she is, hereby directed to make and submit to the Secretary of nYAYq., F't"hi. io days from Fate hereof, the following: 1. A certified copy of this Ordinance of annexation 2. A certified copy of the statement of consent of the landowner in the territory annexed 3. A certified copy of Ordinance No.66-3 whereby the City Council declared that no election is required in the City, and to file herein the acknowledgment of the Secretary of State of said filing. Section 3: That the Recorder of the City of Tigard be, and she is hereby directed, within 10 days from date hereof, to file with each of the Department of Revenue and Taxation and the Department of Records ar.d Elections of the County of Washington, the following: 1. A certified copy of this Ordinance of annexation 2.. A certified copy of Ordinance No.66-3, and that a copy of this Ordinance be directed to tha Office of the Washington County Surveyor, and to file herein the acknowledgments of said Departments of said filin s. Section 4: That the annexation hereby ordained shall be effective on the date of filing with the Secretary of State of Oregon the copies of proceedings as in Section 2 hereof required to be filed, and from and after said date the hereinabove described and annexed territory shall be and remain a part of the City of Tigard.
