l AN ORDINANCE SETTING HEARING WITH RESPECT TO PROPOSED
ANNEXATION OF LANDS OF SCHOOL DISTRICT No. 23, WASHINGTON COUNTY,
OREGON, IN THE NORTHEAST QUARTER OF SECTION 1, T2S, R1W, W.M.,
WASHINGTON COUNTY, OREGON, AND DIRECTING GIVING OF NOTICE THEREOF.
WHEREAS, a petition for tbi annexation of the following-
described lands has been duly filed with the City Recorder of the
City of Tigard, Oregon, by School District No. 23, Washington
County, Oregon, the owners thereof; and
WHEREAS, said premises are contiguous to the boundaries of
the City of Tigard and are not within the corporate limits of any
other city, and lie wholly within the boundaries of the County
of Washington, State of Oregon; and
WHEREAS, it appears that said school district may properly
be annexed to the city without submitting the question to the
registered voters thereof;
NOW, THEREFORE,
THE CITY OF TIGARD ORDAINS AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1: That the City Council of the City of Tigard does hereby
elect to dispense with the submitting of the question
of annexation of the hereinafter described premises to the regis-
tered voters of the City of.Tigard.

Main Street, City of Tigard, Oregon, be, and the same are hereby
fixed as the date, time and place for a public hearing by the
City, Council of the petition of School District No. 23 for annexa-
tion of the hereinafter described lands to the City of Tigard,
and all registered voters of the City may appear at said time and
place aad be heard on the question of said annexation.
u Section 3• That the City Recorder of the City of Tigard be, and
she is hereby, directed to give notice of said hearing
by publication once each week for two successive weeks, or three

publishings in all, prior to the date of said hearing, in the
Tigard Times, a newspaper of general circulation in the City of
Tigard, and the City Recorder further be, and she is hereby,
directed to post notices of said hearing in four public places
within the City of Tigard for a like period.
Section 4: That the area proposed to be annexed be, and the same
is hereby described as follows:
Beginning at a point in the center line of County Road
South 0° 35' West 429 fat from the Northeast corner of
the W. W. Graham D.L.C., Townshig 2 South, Range 1 West,
W.M., and running thence South 0 35' West along the center
line of said road 407.5 feet; thence South 89° 44' West
975.3 feet to an iron pipe on the Westerly line of that
certain tract conveyed by deed from John W. Keller, et al,
to Elizabeth Keller and recorded in book 116, page 469, deed
records of Washington County, Oregon; thence North 0° 29' 20"
West along the Westerly line of said `tract 480.95 feat to
an iron pipe; thence South 85° 59' 20" East 985.88 feet
to the place of beginning,
EXCEPTING HOWEVER, the portion thereof lying within the
boundaries of roads and highways.
Section 5: Inasmuch as it is for the benefit of the City of Tigard
and those interested in the petition for annexation
that this matter be heard with the least possible delay, and it is
necessary for the peace, health and safety of the City of Tigard
that this ordinance become effective with the least possible delay,
an emergency is hereby declared and this ordinance shall become
effective,upon its passage by the City Council and approval by
the Mayor.
PASSED: By the Council, by unanimous vote of all Council
members present, after being read 3 times by title
