AN ORDINANCE ADOPTING THE "NATIONAL ELECTRICAL CODE" AS THE
ELECTRICAL CODE OF THE CITY OF TIGARD OREGON AND ADOPTING THE
"STATE OF OREGON ELEMRICAL SAFETY LAW" AS Tg ELECTRICAL SAFETY
CODBROF THE CITY OF TIGARD, OREGON, AND PROVIDING PENALTIES FOR
THE VIOLATION OF THE PROVISIONS OF THIS ORDINANCE. j
THE CITY OF TIGARD ORDAINS AS FOLLOWS:

ber 1959 as set forth in the Standard of the Nat- e
ional Board of Fire UnderwritAkrs for Electrical Wiring and Appar-
atus. approved April 5, 1959 by the American Standards Association, 4
is hereby adopted as the Electrical Code of the City of Tigard,
Oregon, a copy thereof being hereto attached and incorporated here-
in by reference, to the same force and effect as though recited
herein in full; and the copy attached hereto and two additional
copies shall be maintained in the office of the City Recorder of
the City of Tigard for use and examination by the public.
Section 2: That the laws of the State of Oregon as contained
in Chapter 479, Sections;- 479.5!09.57n to [.79,840 Oregon
Revised Statutes, and captioned ther�.,ein as the "Electrical Safety
Law of the State of Oregon", and the regulations lawfully pre-
scribed pursuant thereto with respect to the matters covered there-
by, are hereby adopted as the Electrical Safety Code of the City
of Tigard and shall have the same fcrce and effect as though herein
recited in full.
Section 3: Subject to the exemptions contained in Section
479.540 Oregon Revised Statutes, no person shall:
(a) Engage in the business of making electrical
installations without an electrical contractor's
license
(b) Direct, supervise or control the making of elec-
trical installations without a super%-Laing elec-
trician's license
(c) Make any electrical installation without a super-
vising or journeyman electrician's license
(d) Perform work on electrical installations as an
apprentice electrician without an electrical
apprentice license
(e) Permit or suffer any electrical installation on
property which he owns controls,, manages or
supervises to be made ty any person not licensed
to make such installation.

ection 5: Any person found guilty of violating any of the pro-
visions of this Ordinance with respect to compliance
with the National Electrical Code as hereinabove defined, shall be
punished by a fine of not exceeding $100.00 or by imprisonment in
the City jail or the County jail for not to exceed 10 days.
Any person found guilty of violating any of theppro-
visions of this Ordinance with respect to compliance u1th the Elec-
trical Safety Law of the State of Oregon as set forth in Sections
479.510 to 479.840 Oregon Revised Statutes, shall be subject to the
penalties set forth in and provided by Section 479.990 Oregon Re-
vised Statutes.
