This message, verbatim, was left on Loraine Sellers' voicemail by Grant Shanahan on
March 26, 2008 at 3:52 pm.
Grant Shanahan's tone of voice and volume of were very elevated at the beginning of the
call and only increased in intensity throughout the message.
"Hi Loraine, this is Grant from Creative Home Remodeling. I guess you were just talking
with John. He told me you guys here, said we needed an architect.
Code enforcement came in here and told us what we needed. He said they needed fire
extinguishers, and building brought up to code, the structure that we're within. We hired
engineers, we paid 2200 dollars. We just spent 8500 dollars bringing this up to code so
we could pass your inspections. We went to court, the Judge said this needed to be done
within 30 days or we'd face a 2500 dollar fine. So we got on it and got it done. We
submitted the plans. You have them. This does not need an architect. I've been doing
plans for thirty five years. This is a simple structure, and I don't want some technicality
throwing this thing way out of line. I've already paid enough. We can't afford it. We're
already faced with a 7500 dollar fine so get off this crap."
