This is to let you know that I, other inspectors from the City of Tigard, and engineers from Kleinfelder, Inc., a geotechnical engineering firm, will be taking photographs and various measurements of the rock walls and fill at the rear of each of your properties over the next few days. We plan to begin on Friday morning, August 9 about 9:00 a.m. We will not need access to your homes and we hope to be as unobtrusive as possible. Hopefully, you will not even notice that we are there and we won't inconvenience you in any way. Our sole interest is in the retaining walls that were added to the properties subsequent to the completion of the subdivision phase in December 1999, and in the composition and compaction of the fill behind those walls. The fact is that we do not have an adequate description of the size, location, and composition of those walls and fill. The purpose of our photographs and measurements will be to provide that description. If you have any questions or if I can be of assistance in any way, please call me at 503 -639- 4171, Ext. 2426.
