The plan review was performed under the State of Oregon Structural Specialty Code (OSSC) 2004
edition; and 2003 Oregon Fire Code as amended by TVF &R. The submitted plans are approved
subject to the following conditions.
GENERAL
1. This review is on a relocated listed peaces of equipment, listing report # 550000, applications
were not submitted for mechanical or the sprinkler system therefore that is not part of this
review and used as reference only submittal.
2. Provide one 80 -B rated fire extinguisher in the new area. The extinguisher shall be located so
that no usable space has a distance greater than 50 feet to the extinguisher. OFC Section 906 &
1504.6.4
3. The fire code official is authorized to issue operational permits for the operations set forth in
Sections 105.6.1 through 105.7. A construction permit is required to install or
modify a spray room, dip tank or booth. OFC 105.7.10, OFC 1501.2
4. Electrical wiring and equipment in spray spaces and vapor areas shall be of an explosion -proof
type approved for use in such hazardous locations. Such areas shall be considered to be Class I,
Division 1 or Class II, Division 1 hazardous locations in accordance with the Oregon Electrical
Code. OFC 1503.2.1.1
5. Areas adjacent to spray booths. Electrical wiring and equipment located outside of, but within
5 feet (1524 mm) horizontally and 3 feet (914 mm) vertically of openings in a spray booth or a
spray room shall be approved for Class I, Division 2 or Class II, Division 2 hazardous locations,
whichever is applicable. OFC 1503.2.1.4

6. Clear space. Spray booths shall be installed so that all parts of the booth are readily accessible
for cleaning_ A clear space of not less than 3 feet (914 mm) shall be maintained on all sides of
the spray booth. This clear space shall be kept free of any storage or combustible construction.
Exceptions: 1. This requirement shall not prohibit locating a spray booth closer than 3 feet (914 mm) to or
directly against an interior partition, wall or floor /ceiling assembly, that has a fire- resistance- rating of not less
than 1 hour, provided the spray booth can be adequately maintained and cleaned

roof assembly provided the wall or roof is constructed of noncombustible material and provided the spray booth
can be adequately maintained and cleaned OFC 1504.1.2.5
7. Electrical wiring within 10 feet (3048 mm) of the floor and 20 feet (6096 mm) horizontally of
the limited spraying space shall be designed for Class I, Division 2 locations in accordance
with the Oregon Electrical Code. OFC 1504.1.4.4
8. American with Disabilities Act (ADA): It shall be the responsibility of the Architect,
Engineer, Designer, Contractor, Owner and Lessee to research the applicability of the ADA
requirements for the structure. The City of Tigard reviews the plans and inspects the structure
only for compliance with Chapter 11 of the OSSC, which may not include all of the
requirements of the ADA
Approved Plans: 1 set of approved plans, bearing the City of Tigard approval stamp, shall be
maintained on the jobsite. The plans shall be available to the Building Division inspectors
throughout all phases of construction. 106.3.1 OSSC
Premises Identification: Approved numbers or addresses shall be provided for all new buildings
in such a position as to be plainly visible and legible from the street or road fronting the property.
When submitting revised drawings or additional information, please attach a copy of the enclosed
City of Tigard, Letter of Transmittal. The letter of transmittal assists the City of Tigard in
tracking and processing the documents.
