The new mechanical units will either be placed on new curbs or transition curbs that will be placed directly over the location of the old mechanical unit. The mechanical unit information is based on cut sheets that were provided to us by Reliable HVAC, INC. The following calculation package verifies if the new mechanical units and curbs require seismic bracing. SCOPE OF WORK: 7320 (BLDG C) Remove existing Trane Air Conditioners and Heating Units. Install (2) new AAON Air Conditioners with new Micrometl welded roof curb. Install (3) new AAON Heating units with new Mircometl transition curbs. Note: The existing Trane Air Conditioners AC 1 and AC2 weight 8,440 lbs and 7,500 lbs, respectively. The new AAON Air Conditioners AC1 and AC2 weight 5,905 lbs each. The existing Trane Heating Units #1, 2 and 3 weight 1450 lbs each. The new AAON Heating Units #1, 2 and 3 weight 956 lbs each. Roof Curb The location of the roof curb (optional) and the clearances around the unit are very important when planning unit installation. Follow the detailed installa- tion instructions provided with the roof curb to be sure of proper fit -up when the unit is set into place. 11111 Supply and Return Air Ductwork Supply and return air flanges are provided on the roof curb. All ductwork must be run and attached to the roof curb before setting the unit into place. Duct- work for all units is to be fabricated and installed by the installing contrac- tor. Refer to the instructions provided with the roof curb. Clearances The recommended clearances for single and multiple unit installations are illustrated in Figures 12 and 13. These minimum requirements are essential to insure adequate serviceability, maximum capacity and peak operating efficiency. A reduction in unit clearance may result in condenser coil starvation, or the recirculation of warm condenser air. Actual clearances which appear to be inadequate should be reviewed with a local Trane sales engineer.
