Hi Tami,
The mechanical permit (MEC2011- 00555) you applied for on 12/2/11 has been routed through the department. I have
looked at the request for planning issues and found that a land use review is required. The site is located within the MU-
CBD zone, which has design requirements. Chapter 18.610 outlines those requirements and when /what type of reviews
are required (link below).

The placement of the heat pump will be modifying the landscaping. A Track 1 review allows modification of up to 15%
of landscaping with no reduction in required landscaping. The minimum landscape requirement for a site on Burnham is
20 %, however this site is likely non - conforming and has less than the 20 %, so that percentage will need to be
maintained. Thus any landscaping lost will need to be replaced somewhere else on the site.
I have included an application form for your convenience. The submittal requirements are listed on the right side of the
form. Please note that I only need two copies of the plan instead of four. You will need to show dimensions of the pad
for the heat pump, calculations for landscaping percentages, where the lost landscaping will be replaced, and type of
screening for the heat pump that meets the requirements of 18.610.020(B)(4) — page 13. In the applicant's statement
please describe the work that is being proposed and address how the proposal is a Track 1 under 18.610.010(E)(1)-
page3 - and how the landscaping meets the minimum (existing non - conforming amount), and how the proposed
screening meets the requirements of 18.610.020(B)(4).
