RE: SOIL ENGiNEER'S REVIEW OF FOUNDATION EXCAVATION SUBGRADE
LOT 15, 31, AND 102 SUMMIT RIDGE
TIGARD, OREGON

OcoPecific Cngineer, Jim Imbrie, visited the site to review the foundation excavation subgrades on the above -
referenced lots. The observed soils on Lots 31 and 102 are are compact engineered fill consisting of clayey
silt, with rocks. Some mucking may be requirad if the subgrade is left exposed to wet weather for ii lung
duration, however the current subgrade is fairly dry. The rear footings are appropriately setback from the rear
yard rockery retaining walls. Based on our observations, it is our opinion that the current foundation subgrade is
adequate for spread foundation support to a maximum allowable bearing pressure of 1 ,bU0 psf,
• Lot 15 exposed hard rock that such that the allowable bearing pressure is over 5,000 psf. Some seepage of
groundwater is present emanating from fractures In the rock. The crawispace should be well drained and
areas backfilled with clean aggregate to allow water to drain through the backfill.
Our work scope pertains to a geotechnicel engineer's foundation excavation review only and the conditions
existing and exposed at the time of our site visit. No deck fooling, patio, or other appurtenant structure
sub{ arles ware observed, Our work woe porformed to the current local stundards of practice. No other
warranty is herein expressed or implied. If you have any questions, please call,
Sincerely,
