Contents This kit consists of: • SMA -N Adapter cable w /screws & wall bracket o 7626 -5 Type "N" Cable /Connector Assembly ' ED o 50 -ohm Coax Cable Assembly (1) RECE o Antenna Mounting Adapter (1) o Cam Lock with Key (1) DEC 0 5 2008 o GSM- ANT3DB Antenna Kit (1) TGMT) o Optional Tamper Switch CITY OF R wl o Hardware kit with 4 screws and spacers %M OW DIVISION o GSM or IGSM Communication Device o Red Fire Cabinet • o Wall Outlet Box (P/N K14358) Assembly To assemble the Fire Kit, refer to Figure 1 and perform the following steps: 1. Remove the door from the cabinet. 3. Remove the cables and other contents from inside the cabinet. 4. Remove the front cover from the GSM OR IGSM communication device. 5. Install the through -hole connector of the coax cable assembly in the GSM OR IGSM device's external antenna connector, tightening the included nut securely. 6. Mount the GSM OR IGSM device in the cabinet using the four mounting screws and spacers provided. 7. Thread the coax cable through a knockout in the steel cabinet and through the center of the adapter. Snap the adapter in place. (The adapter can be mounted on either the left or right • side of the cabinet.) 8. Secure the connector to the adapter using the nut and washer provided. 9. Connect the SMA -N adapter cable to the SMA connector at the top of the cabinet. Connecting the External Antenna The GSM- ANT3dB is an exterior weatherproof antenna. To install the antenna, refer to Figure 1 and perform the following steps: 1. Power the GSM OR IGSM unit temporarily, and measure and record the RSSI (signal strength using the internal antenna for reference. 2. Disconnect all power from the unit including the battery. 3. Attach the antenna to the mounting bracket and connect as shown, using the 7626 -5 cable. 4. Find a suitable location so that the antenna will be mounted vertically. The best antenna location is usually at the highest point in the building. o Avoid the basement. o Avoid mounting on or near large metal objects. 5. Restore power to the unit, measure the RSSI, and compare the new value to the value recorded in Step 1. 6. Adjust the location of the antenna if needed to maximize the RSSI, for at least three bars. 7. Permanently mount the antenna vertically using the hardware as shown. The included silicon rubber tape is used to waterproof the antenna connection. il ANTENNA ® • .. ]626.5 I ! , BRACKET--___,, NUT a N WALL I ANC RS 1 __BRACKET 16 SCR , • WA]626CA CABLE SILICON TAPE ICI WRAP ANTENNA NUT MOUNTING EXTERNAL ADAPTER '-'-`, T `— — — WASHER ANTENNA INTERNAL L:J ,i, PORT ANTENNA 1 so° • MOUNTING SCREWS \ \ II I COA % ■ AND SPACERS (4) CABLE , ) - b-'1( ASSEMBLY SMA / MMCY ADAPTER CABLE • (INCLUDED WITH GSM- ANTSDBI j _ WALL OUTLET BOX _ (P /N K1 " " "' ' - ^' p OI O a c _ o, ° • \ 0 TRANSFORMER 0 0 O Il I RM NALS t o ` O - 6 TAMPER D "' SWITC 0 K NOCKOUT -- ` _- (OPTIOH NAL) 0 ,...c_ -1 r,l) II S - << CON ONT / 0 ( COMMERCIAL ,../ 0 ! / \ CABINET ( GSMCF- 0014, Figure 1: Assembly Diagram Optional Tamper Switch If used, install the cabinet tamper switch to the cabinet as shown and wire to a zone input on the communication device, or to a zone on the alarm system control panel, if desired. Wiring, Programming, and Final Mounting 1. Wire and program the GSM or IGSM communication device as required according to the device's Installation & Setup Guide. U For Commercial Fire installations, transformer wiring must be run in conduit from a L knock -out opening in the cabinet through a wall outlet box (P/N K14358), as shown in Figure 1. 2. Replace the cover of the communication device. Securely anchor the commercial fire cabinet to a wall or other vertical surface using four screws, one in each corner. Use mounting screws or bolts that are designed for the material the cabinet is being anchored to. 1 2 CorPr well l 100 P.O. Box 9040, Melville, NY 11747 K15002V1 2/08 Rev.
