The submitted plans are approved subject to the following. General requirements A key box for building access may be required. Please contact the local Fire Marshal's Office for an order form and instructions regarding installation and placement. (OFC 506) 1. Upon completion of the installation, a satisfactory test of the entire system shall be made in the presence of the Fire Chief. All functions of the system or alteration shall be tested. 901.5 OSSC (NFPA 72) 2. The permittee shall provide written certification to the Fire Chief that the system has been installed in accordance with the approved plans and specifications. A copy of the completed form shall be maintained on the premises and made available to the Fire Chief. 901.2.1 OFC 3. Connections to the light and power service shall be on a dedicated branch circuit. The circuit and connections shall be mechanically protected. The circuit disconnecting means shall be accessible only to authorized personnel and shall be clearly and permanently marked FIRE ALARM CIRCUIT CONTROL. 907.5 OFC Manual Fire Alarm activation devices shall be mounted in the following reach ranges: • Forward Reach - 15 inches to 48 inches above the floor. 1109.2.3.5 OSSC • Side Reach — 9 inches to 54 inches above the floor. 1109.2.3.6 OSSC 13125 SW Hall Blvd., Tigard, OR 97223 (503) 639 -4171 TDD (503) 684 -2772 Visuals (Section 1109.14 OSSC) 1. Visual alarms shall be located not less than 80 inches and not more than 96 inches above the floor level. When a low ceiling exists, the visual alarm shall be mounted at least 6 inches below the ceiling. • 2. Visual alarms shall have a minimum candela rating of 75 candelas. 3. No place in a room shall be more than 50 feet from a visual signal. 4. In large rooms exceeding 100 feet across and without obstructions 6 feet or more above the floor, devices may be placed around the perimeter spaced at a maximum of 100 feet apart. Approved Plans: 1 set of approved plans, bearing the City of Tigard approval stamp, shall be maintained on the jobsite. The plans shall be available to the Building Division inspectors throughout all phases of construction. 106.3.1 OSSC Premises Identification: Approved numbers or addresses shall be provided for all new buildings in such a position as to be plainly visible and legible from the street or road fronting the property. When submitting revised drawings or additional information, please attach a copy of the enclosed City of Tigard, Letter of Transmittal. The intent of the fire alarm system additions is to increase audible alarm volume levels through out the Allstate tenant spaces on floors one and two. We will add (1) ADA synchronized notification power supply in the electric room on the first floor to provide power to (15) new and (2) existing horn/strobes in suites 100 & 200. The horn/strobes will provide ADA strobe coverage in the spaces where they are installed. It is not our intent to provide ADA strobe coverage in all common use and general use areas of the tenant spaces. Please call if you have questions or comments.
